Kenneth Burton

Kenneth Burton

Age - 76

December 7, 2023

On December 5, 2023, we said our reluctant goodbyes to a true character, Kenneth "Kenny" Wayne Burton. Born on April 15, 1947, in the heart of Indianapolis, IN, Kenny was the lively son of Samuel L and Irma Christine (Daugherty) Burton. Kenny's presence brought laughter and joy to those lucky enough to share in his company. From a young age, he showcased his playful nature, often teasing his sister Evelyn mercilessly. The memories of their youthful banter became cherished tales, a testament to Kenny's mischievous spirit. A true jokester at heart, Kenny was known for being ornery as hell, yet beneath that exterior lay a heart of gold. Those who surrounded him understood that his teasing and playful banter were merely expressions of the deep love he held for them. Kenny's unique ability to blend humor with affection made him a beloved figure in the lives of many. As we bid farewell to Kenny, we acknowledge that though he may be gone from our sight, he will never be forgotten. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those he touched, leaving behind memories of laughter and love. Kenny leaves behind his daughters, Danielle and Tammy, who will forever hold his memory close. His grandkids, Kaylee, Taylor, and Denny, will carry the warmth of their grandfather's love throughout their lives. His sister Evelyn (Connie) will hold onto the fond memories of a brother who brought both joy and exasperation. Kenny's extended family, including numerous nieces and nephews, share in the grief of his passing. Among them, Debbie held a special place in Kenny's heart, fostering a bond that transcended familial ties. In Kenny's reunion with eternity, he joins his parents, Samuel L and Irma Christine, and his siblings Mildred and Daniel. Their collective presence in the afterlife marks a reunion that we can only imagine but hope brings them the peace they deserve. A Memorial Service to celebrate Kenny's life will take place on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 5 PM at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until the hour of the service. As we gather to remember the laughter, the jokes, and the love Kenny shared, let us find solace in the memories that will forever linger in our hearts. Dianna Brown

Dianna Brown

Age - 72

December 7, 2023

DiAnna was born in 1951 to Louis and Rosetta Brown in Bouge Chitto, Mississippi. She moved to Indianapolis and was raised by her Aunt Lula Mae Washington (affectionately known as Aunt Girl) following a sudden and tragic loss of her mother in 1960. DiAnna graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1969 and entered the workforce. Shortly thereafter, she discovered a calling for nursing and became a nursing assistant in the mid-seventies and furthered her education even more by becoming an LPN in the early 80s. This nursing passion led to a position at St. Vincent’s hospital, where she worked over 30 years before retiring. DiAnna was a consummate jokester and prankster who absolutely loved to laugh and shared that joy with other people. She was at her best when she was surrounded by friends and family making witty observations. Bugs Bunny reruns were in constant rotation. One of DiAnna’s spiritual gifts was a loving, discerning spirit. She was very empathetic and could be relied upon to give you the unvarnished truth in love and the wisdom you sought. She leaves a legacy of wisdom and humbleness in allowing the Holy Spirit to move within you and through you in order to serve others and positively contribute to the kingdom of God. DiAnna is preceded in death by brothers David, Albert Junior, and Willie, sisters Margaret, Sarah, Mary Nell, and Delores. She is survived by two sons, Eric Brown and Shaun Brown, five grandsons, DeShawn Williams, Anthony Brown, Eric Brown Jr, Jayden Williams, and Christopher Williams, and one granddaughter, Christina Brown. She is also survived by four siblings, Edna Royal, Yvonne Moore, Mary Ann Brame, Jerry Brown, and dozens of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. May you rest in eternal peace with our heavenly father, and may your memory continue to inspire us to live with the same love, compassion, and strength that you exemplified throughout your remarkable life. Well done, good and faithful servant.Show more
