Cathy Harris Obituary

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. April 27, 2023, in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Cathy Leger Harris, 70, who passed away April 22, 2023, at 9:19 p. m. surrounded by her loving family. Reverend Clifton LeJeune, Pastor of Jesus Worship Center in Jennings will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Thursday from 8:00 am to the time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dean Harris of Crowley; three children, Christina Broussard and her husband Ted of Broussard, Steven Harris and his wife Michelle of Crowley, and Mark Harris of Iota; three grandchildren, Coleman, Clay, and Zachary Harris; four siblings, Yvonne Gypin of Pineville, Ruby Mire (Buford) of Ball, Gurvis Leger, Jr. (Cindy) of Deridder, and Delana Bergeron of Sulphur. Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Gurvis and Elvie Abshire Leger; and one sister, Neva Linscombe; nephew, Robert LinscombePallbearers will be her grandsons, Coleman Harris, Clay Harris, Zachary Harris, her brother Gurvis Leger, Jr. and nephews Preston Mire, Brett Broussard. Honorary pallbearers are Ted Broussard and Bobby Linscombe. The family would like to say a special thanks to Ashley Broussard and Marisa Sonnier with Lamm Hospice. Also, Missy Habetz and Marie Broussard who went above and beyond to care for and comfort her in her final days.
