Catherine Md Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Catherine M. Scholl, 72, a compassionate and dedicated physician from Tafton, PA. Dr. Scholl, who close friends and family knew as Cathie, attended Wallenpaupack High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Cornell University in 1972 before obtaining her MD from Jefferson Medical College in 1979. She completed her residency at Hershey Medical Center in 1982. She touched many lives throughout her career in the medical field. Early on she co-founded Pike County Medical with Dr. James Gerson, and together they later built and led the Traumatic Brain Injury Program at Hillcrest Medical Center. Dr. Scholl spent decades working in various medical offices and specialties. In the last years of her career, she turned her work to serving patients who struggled with addiction. Her dedication never wavered, and she continued helping patients until her final days. Catherine will be remembered not only for her sharp intellect and medical expertise but also for the deep compassion she displayed towards her family, friends, and patients. Her boundless curiosity inspired her to explore new countries, take on diverse projects, and delve into various artistic pursuits and culinary adventures. Catherine is survived by her son, Jeffrey Gerson; her siblings: Richard Scholl Jr. & wife Sue, Audrey Scholl, Raymond Scholl & wife Jenny; her nieces and nephews: Martha Catherine Scholl, Richard Scholl III & wife Emily, Lindsay Scholl & husband Nick Hulbig, and Foster Scholl; her great-nephew Benjamin Thomas Scholl and great-niece Jillian Debra Scholl. In accordance with Catherine's wishes, no public funeral or memorial service will be held.
