Cartez Deshazior Obituary

Cartez Lavone DeShazior, born December 11, 1949, was the only son of Elouise DeShazior, who proceeded him in death at the age of three. He was raised by his aunts, Minnie, and Mable DeShazior, who also proceeded him in death. Cartez received a Catholic education from Holy Redeemer Elementary School and Archbishop Curley High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served as an Aircraft mechanic. He attended Miami Dade Junior College for a while after leaving the Air Force. In June of 1980 Cartez married his sweetheart, Dale Ambrose and that union produced two daughters, Theresa Laverne, and Latanya Eloise. He worked with the United States Postal Services for 10 years and later worked at UM Hospital as an environmental project specialist. He retired from UM after ten years of service. He loved his family. His "Baby girl" LaTanya could get anything from him. Theresa," the stern one", handled any affairs he needed done. Each daughter gave him a grandson. Cordale from Theresa, and Demetrius (DJ) from LaTanya. They are his boys, the joys of his life. Boh, as he was affectionally called, loved to travel, party, and have fun. He was an avid sports fan; football and basketball were his favorite. He talked and argued sports with Keith, Pascal, and Gillian every week; and played cards and socialized with Scotty, Baker, and others twice a month. Before the death of his Aunts Minnie and Mable, he enjoyed dinners at their house twice a month. Sunday dinners together have always been a family tradition. He loved the food, especially the "sweets". Christine would make his favorite cake, and Mary his favorite drink. Cartez, Boh, Babes, Daddy, Grandpa, Uncle Boh, will be missed by all his family and friends. His legacy will live on as we remember the jokes, remarks, and his many antics throughout the years. Cartez leaves to mourn his wife, Dale, daughters Theresa and LaTanya; grandsons Cordale, and Demetrius (DJ), his sisters-in-law Christine and Mary; brothers-in-law Grafton (Gerard), Herbert, Keith; nephews Pascal and Gillian (Tatiana), grandnephews Pharell and Kchance, grandniece Journey, and many cousins Alma, Melva, Marva, Clarinda, Pam, Wanda, Bernita to name a few and many friends too many to name.
