LaVerne Everett Case, 88, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away at his home on February 17, 2024. LaVerne was born on August 1, 1935, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to Lorrent and Marjorie (King) Case. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953. LaVerne is a member of the Weaubleau Community Bible Church and Coon Creek Baptist Church in Collins, Missouri. LaVerne was born on August 1, 1935, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to Lorrent and Marjorie (King) Case. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1953. LaVerne is a member of the Weaubleau Community Bible Church and Coon Creek Baptist Church in Collins, Missouri. LaVerne returned to Nebraska following his military service, he enjoyed many adventures. He worked as a ranch hand in the sand hills of Nebraska, traveled many miles as a truck driver, demonstrated the use of heavy equipment for Caterpillar, and could repair anything with a motor. LaVerne raced stock cars for nearly 30 years. LaVerne was a nomad, but he always had a plan. He could play the dobro and loved listening to music. In his later years, he enjoyed “treasure hunting” with his metal detector. LaVerne married Lily Wanhala on July 24, 2015, just shy of his 80th birthday. LaVerne is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Justin Richards; his first wife, Allona (Gregg) Case; second wife, Patricia (Grabast) Case, and brother, Leslie Dean Combs. He is survived by his wife, Lily Case; his children: Myron Case, Lorent Case and wife, Susan, Jesse Case, and wife, Amy, and Margo Gresham and husband, Charles; grandchildren: Brandon Smith, Amanda Caudill, Brittany Case, Breanna Case, Ryan Boyle, Janet Case, Jessica Case, Christopher Case, Emma Case, Carter Case, and Mercedes Stafford; 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Larry Brooks, Darwin Combs, June Cords, and Rosetta Parker and many other family and friends. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Stan was Heaven’s special child born in Humansville, Missouri on March 11th, 1956, to Billy \u0026amp; Phyllis Taylor. He attended Dadeville High School and graduated in 1974. Stan was a member of Bona Church of Christ. Stan is preceded in death by his parents Billy \u0026amp; Phillis (Rotrock) Taylor and his still born brother Larry Taylor. Stan is survived by his two brothers Gary Taylor of Aldrich Missouri and Philip \u0026amp; Cathy Taylor of Springfield, Missouri; His nieces Christie Ruzicka (Taylor), Carla Eubanks (Taylor) \u0026amp; Sara Christian (Taylor). His nephew Scott Taylor. His great nephews Jacob, Seth and Ethan Eubanks, Landon and Luke Taylor; His great nieces Madison and Elise Christian. Stan was very pure, genuine and loving hearted individual who loved to help everyone around his neighborhood. Stan used to mow lawns, pick walnuts and blackberries to share with everyone around. Many neighbors enjoyed his cheerful \u0026amp; joyful spirit \u0026amp; also the delicious cobblers they used to make with the fresh Blackberries that he picked. He was very social and loved to visit and catch up with the local news, he also enjoyed visiting and putting puzzles together with his friend Jennifer who is also Heaven’s special child and her mother Karen who stays in their family’s vacation home by the lake close to Stan’s house. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Bona Church of Christ in Bona, Missouri. Burial will follow at Bona Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar."

"Linda Dawes, age 75, passed peacefully on February 5, 2024, surrounded by love. She was born to EuJean (Butler) Gothard Dody and Paul Gothard on August 3, 1948. Her father passed when she was just a young girl and Linda spent her childhood helping her mother and brother on the farm. Graduating from Fair Play, MO in 1966, Linda continued on to university to become an educator. Linda married John Wayne Dawes on June 10, 1972. They were married for over 40 years and raised four children. As an adult, Linda was blessed with Everett Dody as her stepfather. Linda poured herself into teaching. She taught business, accounting, and was the yearbook advisor at Walnut Grove High School. Linda taught for 30 years, retiring from Walnut Grove after her youngest child graduated in 2004. Linda was also very active in the Lake Stockton Council of the Blind. Linda also enjoyed a few hobbies such as crocheting, creating hand made cards, fishing at Bennett Springs, and absolutely loved collecting recipe books. She always leaned toward a sweet treat. She was an excellent cook. Linda was a selfless woman who helped others without hesitation. She was kind, thoughtful, and had a card or craft for nearly every occasion. Linda built a legacy that will not soon be forgotten. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Paul Gothard and EuJean (Gothard) Dody, stepfather, Everett Dody, Brother, Bobbie Gothard, mother-in-law, Ruth (Harris) Dawes, father-in-law, Robert C. Dawes, and her husband, John Wayne Dawes. Linda’s legacy will continue wither her children: Robert Wayne Dawes and wife, Carie, Michael Paul Dawes and wife, Heather, Stephanie Dale Dawes, Melinda Leigh Phillips, and Kathryn Kersh. Grandchildren, Rebecca Lyn Dawes, Megan Renee Dawes (Brett Mathis), Paige Elizabeth Dawes, Manuel Vincent Flores and wife Brittany, Joseph Paul Dawes, Phoenix Loudon Terry (Riley Fox), and Rosslyn Sophia Terry. Great-grandchildren, Callie Lenore Flores, Raden Yates Flores, Greyson Elliot Wise, and Yosemite Sierra Mathis. Services for Linda will start at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Lindley Prairie Cemetery in Bearcreek, Missouri. Visitation for Linda will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Lake Stockton Council of the Blind."
