Funeral services for Barbara Walker will be 2:00 p. m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Kirk and Pastor Mike McReynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. She will be in state at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker. Barbara Lois, daughter of the late Harry Edward and Lois Mary (Skillings) Hamby, was born July 6, 1939, at Hooker, and passed away November 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by family at the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 21 days. Barbara was raised in Hooker where she attended school. On May 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Neal O. Williams. Together they had three children: Neal, Shannon, and Sharron. Barbara later married the love of her life, Travis Hugh Walker on March 11, 1967, at Oklahoma City. They raised their blended family in Liberal, Kansas, Woodward, Mooreland, and Isleton, California, before returning to Hooker where they had made their home for the past 55+ years. She enjoyed following Pop's band, dancing, reading and internet shopping, crocheting and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She always enjoyed when they could get together and spend time together. Besides her parents, Harry and Lois, she was preceded in death by her husband, Travis, in 2021; her son, Mitch Walker; her daughters, Shannon Campbell and Paula Brooks; her brother, Tad Davis; a granddaughter, Stevie Miller; and a great granddaughter, Harley Michele Walker. Barbara is survived by two sons, Mike Walker of Hooker, and Neal Williams and wife, Sonja, of Alva; two daughters, Clista Fish of Hooker, and Sharron Gorman of Ardmore; her brothers, Butch Hamby and wife, Marie, of Guymon and Larry Hamby and wife, Glovena, of Crockett, Texas; a sister, LaDonna Hinsdale and husband, Larry, of Hutchinson, Kansas; 25 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Christians United for Israel (CUFI) or Sanctuary of Hope.
