Carolyn Joyce Obituary

Carolyn Joyce nee Ahlers died in her home in Ocean Village, Hutchinson Island, Fl. on April 30, 2023. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to Edward Ahlers and Dorothea Cody Ahlers on May 8, 1943. She was predeceased by her parents, and husband, John Patrick Joyce Jr. Her loving nephew, John Ryan predeceased her. Carolyn is survived by her siblings, Arlene A. and William Pickard, and Robert and Theresa Ahlers. She was loved by her nephews and niece, Michael Lemole, Timothy Ahlers, Christopher Ahlers, Sarah Roberts nee Ahlers. Carolyn is also survived by fond sisters-in-law Peggy Joyce Schauerman, Maureen Joyce McElderry, and brother -in-law Eamon Joyce (Irene), as well as many nieces and nephews, especially Billy Schauerman, Maureen Peltier, and Carolyn Walker. Carolyn graduated from the Brooklyn College of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse in NYC. She attended the first open heart surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital. She loved traveling, swimming, reading and art and was a longtime resident of Southampton, NY before moving to Fl. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at The Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Westchester, NY at a future date. Memories may be shared at www. YatesFuneralHome. com.
