Lawrence S. Johnson, 86, of Cambridge, MN passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home. He was born June 30, 1937 in Menomonie, WI to Lawrence and Edith L. (Berg) Johnson. Larry grew up on a dairy farm in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. He graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1955. In 1958 he joined the U. S. Navy and took a tour of duty to the Mediterranean Sea which was a highlight of his military service. He was honorably discharged in Oct. 1959. In 1960 he was married to Sharon McKee and to this union four children were born, Danny, Karrie, Curtis and Eric. Larry worked for a time at Minneapolis Moline until they closed. He worked for the City of Minneapolis for over 20 years until he retired. Larry and Denise (Fluegge) Hansen were married at Karmel Covenant Church. They lived in Dalbo until 2018 when they moved to Goldenwood. He was a member of Karmel Covenant Church. Larry was active with square dancing and he met Denise at a square dance event. They enjoyed camping trips to Glacier National Park, a tour around Lake Superior and many other areas. He liked his cars, motorcycles and horses. He wanted to drive off in his Chrysler 300 and died with the keys in his hands. Larry had an infectious laugh and a strong voice. He was preceded in death by his sister Geraldine Johnson. Larry is survived by his wife Denise, children Danny (Marie) Johnson of Wahpeton, ND, Karrie Burke of Las Vegas, Curtis (Jonathan) Johnson of FL, Eric Johnson of Elko, NV, three stepchildren Dennis Hansen of Duluth, Helen Hansen of Blaine, Nathan Hansen of Mora, five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, first wife Sharon of UT, other relatives and friends. Lois Doebbeling age 88 of Cambridge, MN. , passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at GracePointe Crossing on November 18, 2023. Lois was born on October 12, 1935 to Marcus and Alvina Nelson in Albert Lea, MN. She attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School, class of 1953. Lois worked for a short time at Wilson's Meat Packing plant in Albert Lea, MN before getting married to Lyle Doebbeling on October 1, 1955. Lois and Lyle made their first home in Twin Lakes, MN moving to Bloomington and finally moving their growing family to a farm in Braham, MN, where they raised their five children. Lois and Lyle were the owners of the Dalbo Discount store for 18 1/2 years, from 1974 until 1993. While working in Dalbo, Lois and Lyle volunteered with the ambulance crew for the Dalbo Fire-Department. In her spare -time she played organ at numerous churches, performing at weddings, church services and funerals. Lois really enjoyed crafting, especially needle work, often teaching others her passion. He last project was a scarf that she made, which Lyle and her will be wrapped in at their final resting place. Lois loved the bake pies and almond Kringles for all of her family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, parents, son David, sister Betty Bjornson and brother James Nelson; sister-in-law Ruth Allen and brothers-in-law Maurice and Ralph Doebbeling. She is survived by her children Jerry, Kenny(Jeanne), Michele Doebbeling, Julie Torell and Sandy (Clayton) Sundvall; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way. Also survived by her sister Shirley Sorensen and sister-in-law Barbara (Art) Noakes and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Brandt Diemert, age 71, of Cambridge, MN, passed away on October 9, 2023, at one of his favorite spots, his hunting land Brandt was born in Moorhead, MN, to George and Cleo Diemert on April 4, 1952 He went to school in Circle Pines, MN He graduated from Centennial High School in 1970 He completed his electrical training with a Journeyman license He worked with the I B E W Local 292 until retirement Brandt was an active member of the Isanti Alano Club and recently celebrated 30 years of sobriety He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club He enjoyed sharing the love of the sports with his children and grandchildren He loved a good game of golf with friends during the summer His grandkids enjoyed sharing a day every year to learn jam making skills Many jars of blueberry and raspberry jam, occasionally syrup when things went awry, were made every year Brandt is preceded in death by George and Cleo Diemert (parents), George Diemert (brother), Richard Diemert (brother), and Joe Diemert (brother) Brandt is survived by Dawn Harrison (daughter), Dan and Cassie Diemert (son), Jeff and Mary Diemert (brother), Tom Diemert (brother), many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10AM - Noon, Monday, October 16, 2023 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home Immediately following a luncheon will be served at Isanti Alano Club in Isanti, MN To to the family or in memory of Brandt M Diemert, pleaseShow more
