    Allan S. Moskowitz, 83, of Davenport, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 at home.    Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2023 from 9:00 a.m – 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors conducted by American Legion Post 246, Moline. Memorials can be made to CASI.    Allan was born November 11, 1940 in New York, NY, the son of David and Sophie (Nelson) Moskowitz. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.    Allan worked and prided himself as a strong Professional Salesman. His greatest pride and joy was his grandchildren.    Allan enjoyed playing bridge, and was an amazing and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to laugh and joke with people and was an avid Hawkeye fan.    Survivors include his children, Matt (Corene) Moskowitz, Brighton, MI and Stacy (Brett) Barnett, Davenport; grandchildren, Isabella, Alexis and Luke Moskowitz and Kaylie (Trey) Duit, Erica (Jeremy) Hillyer and Aliya Barnett; great-grandson, Jameson Duit; sister, Lenore Moskowitz, Silver Springs, MD and sister-in-law, Evadna Moskowitz, Reston, VA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley and Ronald Moskowitz.

"Jon Bartlett Wall, age 60, of Miles, Iowa, departed this world peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport, Iowa, surrounded by his loved ones. Services will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 14, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.and on Thursday, February 15, from 9:30-10:30 am preceding the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Jon was born April 24, 1963, in Maquoketa, Iowa, son of James R. and Beverly (Bartlett) Wall. He attended East Central High School in Miles and graduated with the class of 1981. Jon married the love of his life, Kristi Kinmonth, on May 31, 1986 and together they built a family and a life filled with love and laughter. Jon worked as a press operator at International Paper in Clinton, Iowa, from 1981 to 2000. He then went on to Danisco/Dupont/IFF in Thomson, Illinois, where he worked from 2001-2024. Jon was an active member of the community; volunteering as a firefighter for Miles and serving as East Central School Board President. At the center of Jon’s life was his family. He was a proud husband, devoted father, and a doting “Grumpa”. His warmth, wisdom, and the joy he brought to every family gathering will be deeply missed. Jon’s memory is honored and kept alive by his loving wife, Kristi; sons, Nathan (Amanda) Wall of Dubuque, Iowa, and Nicholas (Tierra Hildebrandt) Wall of DeWitt, Iowa; and one grandson, Weston; father, James R. Wall of Sabula, Iowa; mother in-law, Ruth Kinmonth, of Bellevue, Iowa; brother, David Wall of Dubuque, IA; sisters in-law, Kimberly (Christopher) Widseth of Omaha, Nebraska; Kelly (Dennis) Schmidt of Princeton, Iowa, and brother in-law, Kary (Kathy) Kinmonth of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and several nieces and nephews. Jon is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Wall; brother, Brian Wall, and father in-law, George Kinmonth."

A funeral service will be at 10 am Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, February 22, 2024 at the Knox Chapel. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, where military honors will be presented. Memorials may be made in care of the Active Day Senior Center of Moline. Drexel was born in Rock Island, Illinois on September 29, 1953. He married MaryEllen Franks on November 2, 1973 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on April 3, 2020. Drexel was a U.S Navy veteran who served on the USS Kitty Hawk. Drexel worked for Montgomery Escalator, currently Kone in Moline for 27 years. He retired from Marco in Davenport. Drexel was a big fan of westerns and country music. He enjoyed going to the Active Day Senior Center in Moline. Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Amy Whitcomb, Rock Island, Sarah (Steve) Rockwell, Moline and Matthew (Jacqueline) Franks, Rock Island; grandchildren, Kyler (Hanna), Abbi (Adam), Rachel, Kaitlyn, Maddie, Jackson and Ben; siblings, Andrea (Tom) Johnson, Stan (Deanna) Franks and Cheryl (David) Hardy; life-long friend, Dean (Deanna) Snow; and his four-legged companion, his dog, Duke. A celebration of life will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, February 22, at Zion Lutheran Church. He will be laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Rod was born near Rock Rapids, IA on January 29, 1935, the son of Heit and Sophia (Buus) Behr. He attended rural school and graduated from Rock Rapids High School. Rod attended University of Dubuque and later received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa, and remained an avid Hawkeye fan the rest of his life. While serving with the U.S. Army in Augsburg, Germany, he married Helen Loreen Johnston of Onawa, IA, in 1960. They had one child, Linda, before Helen passed away in March of 1962. He later married Mary Kay Bielenberg of Charlotte, IA. They had two more children, Nolan and Mitch. Rod enjoyed the musical and sports activities of his children. He was active in his community, holding officer positions and receiving many awards with both the Jaycees and Optimists. Rod was also an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, having served as Treasurer for nearly twenty years. Rod was employed by various companies in several cities. The last seventeen years was with Swiss Valley Farms, retiring as CFO in 2001. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; wife, Mary; his parents; and two brothers, Merlyn and Vernon. Those left behind to honor his memory are his children, Linda Flynn, Nolan (Jeannie), and Mitch; grandchildren, Shannon, Jerome Jr., Garrett, Colton, Braden, Noelle, and Josh; and great grandchild, Rory.

Shayla enjoyed old western tv shows, old country music, horror movies, and DIY crafts. Those left to carry on her memory include her parents; 2 children of Milan, IL; grandmother, Laura Kuhse of Clinton, IA; uncle, Wade Kuhse of Clinton, IA; aunt, Kalli Kuhse of California; brother, Devin Martin of Des Moines, IA; and sister, Brittney Smith of Tulsa, OK; along with nieces, nephews, and several cousins. Shayla precedes in passing her grandfather, Richard Kuhse; and grandparents, Eugene and Berniece Kuhse. Dale A. Chapman, 73, of Davenport, Iowa passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at his home. Visitation will be on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 10am – 12pm at Weerts Funeral Home with a graveside service with military honors to follow at Davenport Memorial Park. Dale was born on February 27, 1950 to George and Louella Chapman in Phelps, Wisconsin. Following high school, Dale joined the United State Navy. He worked for International Harvester for 30 years before he retired. Dale was a big outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family cabin up in Wisconsin. During his free time he would often play games on the computer with his nephew Michael. Those left to honor his memory are his brothers Jim and Don Chapman; nephews Michael (Charlotte) Chapman and Todd (Mel) Yock; and niece Tami (Pete) Richardt. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brother in law Elaine and John Yock.

Gene was born on July 6, 1942 in Mexico, Missouri to William (Bill) and Margie Wyble. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie and grandson Tyler Brown. He had two children, Karmen Brown of Davenport and Derek Wyble of Georgia. He also had 5 step children, Sherry, Babette, Brett, Jasen, and Matthew. Several grandchildren; Dalton Wyble, Dillion Wyble, Rebecca, Kendall, Anabelle, and Rusty. He loved music and played trumpet in the school band. He worked at Arconic, formerly known as Alcoa, for 31 years. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and serving at Coram Deo Bible Church. He loved growing roses and working with wood projects. He was known for his many beautiful dollhouses he created and his beloved dogs Baxter and Tucker. He is survived by his beloved wife Ruth.
