Carolyn Jean Glover, 84, of Cabot, Arkansas fell asleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born March 18, 1939 to Eugene and Reba Skinner Wetzler. She grew up in North Little Rock attending Levy Elementary and NLR High School. She lived her life with a firm faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and attended Levy Baptist Church with her family for many years. She met the love of her life, Fred Glover, in the 2nd grade. They married on September 25, 1959, and together raised 3 boys. Carolyn loved traveling, being outdoors, fishing, and playing the piano. She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Reba Wetzler; son, Gary Glover; grandson, Clayton Glover; great-granddaughters Addison Glover and Joanna Barber; sister, Linda Kay Wetzler and brothers, Robert Wetzler and Charles Wetzler. Carolyn is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Fred V. Glover, Jr. ; sons, David (Bobbie) Glover and Steve (Holly) Glover; daughter-in-law, Becky Blackard; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Anita (John) Allison; sisters-in-law, Pat Wetzler and Diane Wetzler and a host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p. m. , Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Fred Davis Laster, 87, of Cabot, passed from this life into the presence of his Lord on Friday, November 24, 2023. Fred was born November 28, 1935 in Clarksville, Arkansas to the late Harl and Iva Goldwyn Jones Laster. Despite falling asleep during the movie on their first date, he married Mavis, the love of his life of nearly sixty-six years. They traveled the world together with their one and only beloved "kid" (as he called her for sixty-three years), Diane. A Vietnam War Veteran, he retired after twenty years from the United States Air Force, where he served our country as Master Sergeant. After his military retirement, he and his family settled in Cabot, Arkansas, where he began a second career with the United States Postal Service for twenty-one years. After Mavis made a Baptist convert out of him, he faithfully served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher for over forty years. His love and study of God's Word poured out of him, and he was a spiritual counselor and advisor to countless others. He instilled those virtues into the lives of his family every day. Fred is survived by his wife, Mavis Mize Laster of Cabot; their daughter, Diane Rose of Cabot; three grandchildren, Lori (Mark) Cooper, Kristen (Matt) Staton, and Mark Binns; four great-grandsons, Ryan, Mason, Eli Davis, and Jude; a brother, Lee (Darlene) Laster; his niece, Debbie (Bob) Harney; and a faithful furry companion, Rosie. David Wayne Willard left for heaven on Tuesday evening, November 21, 2023. He was a friend and family member to ALL for 70 years. He joined his mother and father, Bill and Joan Willard, along with his brother Jimmy Willard; as well as his mother and father in law, Lincoln and Minnie Ball. Remembering him with love are his wife, Jane Willard; his pride and joy, Anne (Annabeth) Elizabeth Willard Jackson (daughter), Avari Jackson (granddaughter) and Tate Jackson (grandson); Michael Willard (brother) and his wife Sheila Albritton, along with their children, Melissa Edwards (daughter) and husband Neal Edwards, and their daughter Madelyn Edwards, and Megan Sargalas (daughter) and husband Matt Sargalas; Daniel Willard (brother); Bonnie Clements (sister) and her husband Vernon (Buzz) Clements; along with their children Breanne Blackmon (daughter) and her husband Mike Blackmon, Bradley Clements (son) and wife Brittany Clements and their children Shelby, Salem, and Eleanor; along with sister in law Charlotte Willard; (Nephew) Zach Willard and wife Ciera Willard, and their children Isabella, Carson, Shallow, Amelia and River, as well as (niece) Bailey Willard. David was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1953. He was the second born of the five children. He was a very active child and teen, achieving many awards, including his most proud moment: obtaining an Eagle Scout certification. He later moved to Paducah, Kentucky and West Memphis and eventually landed in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Here he attended Arkansas State University where he studied music. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in 1976, and his Master's degree in 1978. During his time at Jonesboro, he was always involved in the church. He worked part time at the First Baptist Church in Bay. He also worked in the Arkansas Baptist Children's Home as a relief parent in college. While in Jonesboro, he met his wife Jane Ball, and they were married July 24th 1976. They were happily married for 47 years. He later moved to Newport, where he was the Choir and Youth Director at First Baptist Church, a choir director for Tuckerman schools and was famously known as the driver of the big White Church Bus. During their time in Newport, they adopted their only child and daughter, Annabeth, in 1980. Their family eventually moved to Cabot, where he would spend the remainder of his life helping others. David was an interim youth minister at First Baptist Church Cabot for one year, then later moved to First Baptist Church Ward from 1985-1991. After that, David always worked in the church music ministry up until his last few years on earth. He was very proud to be the Choir Director at Cabot Public Schools from 1983 to 2017. He won teacher of the year and Choral Director for the State of Arkansas, multiple times. Along with his years at CPS, he was ALWAYS involved in Christian music ministry around the entire state of Arkansas. Some of his well-known hobbies included coordinating weddings, as the owner of Designs by David, staying actively involved in the community through various service activities, and driving the big yellow school bus. David was a friend to all. His legacy includes changing a multitude of his students' and friends' lives, through his inclusive, kind-hearted and loving ways. He was considered a leader in his family and was known to show up and support every member at their special occasions. To know him is to love him. His memory will not only live on forever through the people he has touched, but also through - The David Willard Memorial - Vocal Music Education Scholarship - "One Child at a Time" that will be presented this May to two honorable Cabot High School students. He lived his life as a man of God and it is a blessing that he is now with the Lord, singing with the angels. A celebration of David's BIG Life will be on Tuesday, November 28th at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, located at 700 N. 2nd Street in Cabot, Arkansas, with visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p. m. and a funeral service beginning at 6:30 p. m. The graveside service will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery located at 163 Mt Carmel Rd, Cabot Arkansas beginning at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday. Wanda Sue Robinson, 86, of Cabot AR, passed away Thursday, November 9th, 2023. She was born to James William and Pearlie Mae Bradley Gauvey on December, 29, 1936, in Heber Springs, AR. Sue was a long time member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot. She retired from Franklin Electric in Jacksonville after 25 years of service. After retirement she helped run Jim Robinson Electric with her husband and sons. Sue enjoyed puzzling, gardening, Hallmark movies, sewing, and taking care of her yard. She also enjoyed traveling with her sisters and nieces. She spent many years taking care of all of her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Rickey Lee Robinson of Cabot, AR; sister, Joyce Avene (Ken) Owens of Lakewood, CA; granddaughter, Amanda Horn of Cabot, AR; grandson, Mark (Natasha) Robinson of Sherwood, AR; great grandson, Brandon Horn of Cabot, AR; great-granddaughters, Emalee and Haylee Robinson of Sherwood, AR; great-great grandchildren, Christian and Lizzie Shannon, Rhett and Rexton Horn all of Cabot, AR, and former Daughter in law; Velma Robinson. Amy's life was a testament to love and unwavering dedication to her family. She was 34 years old. Amy was born July 31, 1989 in El Dorado, Arkansas being the youngest sibling of 1 sister and 2 brothers. As a mother, she faced life's challenges while providing a nurturing and stable home for her beloved children, Kaden age 14, Briar age 11, Austin age 9 and Adelyn age 7. She was devoted to her work at Arkansas Fertility and Gynecology for 10 years. Her unwavering commitment to her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she navigated the complexities of parenthood with determination. Amy's home was a sanctuary of love, laughter and endless support. She was not only a mother, but also a mentor and friend to her children, instilling in them the values of kindness, respect and the importance of family bonds. Her acts of love and generosity extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of friends, neighbors, and coworkers who were fortunate enough to know her. Remember Amy not for the sorrow of her departure, but for the indelible love she bestowed on the hearts of her children. Teddy Gene "Popeye" Joslin and Hazel "Laverne" Gladden Joslin, both of Cabot, peacefully entered into eternal rest within two days of each other. Popeye was 85 when he passed away October 15, 2023 and Laverne was 90 when she passed away October 17, 2023. They loved traveling, fishing, spending time together and family. They were both faithful members of Southside Church of Christ in Cabot. Popeye was born April 9, 1938 in Enola to the late John Samuel and Gertrude Annette (Matthews) Joslin. He spent many years as a long distance driver for Fox-Smythe and JB Hunt. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a man who loved his family and had an infectious laugh. In addition to his parents, Popeye was preceded in death by his first wife of fifty-one years, Barbara Ann; stepdaughter, Debbie Darlene Whittle; sisters, Nettie Lorene Shock and Gladys Ray Woodward; brothers, Sam Jr. , Buddy Joe, Seth Daniel and twin, Neddy Dean "Wimpy". Laverne was born May 1, 1933 in Catching, Mississippi to the late Amos Wesley and Iva Chesley (Irwin) Yount. She was the third of eight children in addition to five half-siblings. Laverne became a much-loved member of her husband Ted's extended family, all of whom will cherish happy memories of times spent with them. She will be fondly remembered as an individual who loved to tease others, loved to laugh and was constantly busy serving others. She always enjoyed fishing and even held the 1948 record for the largest trout. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James M. Gladden and her husband, Teddy Gene "Popeye" Joslin.
