Basilio R. Galaviz Jr. "Heavy" age 75 Of Matteson,IL formerly of Chicago Heights, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Jean A. Galaviz (nee Clausen); loving father of Pamela Galaviz, Veronica Martinez (Jose), Gail Orozco, Antonio Clausen, Basilio Clausen (Erin), Michelle Guerrero (Jesus), Joseph Florez (Kimberly); cherished grandfather of Rachel Arce, Julio Arce Jr, Jose De Jesus Aceves, Basilio Aceves, Rosa Aceves (Justino),Gail Castro (Cristian), Angelica Alvarado, Maria Leon, Anarosa Leon, Matea Martinez, Jaimee Martinez, Irene Orozco, Octavio Orozco, Julianna Spitelli (John),Tyler Clausen, Jake Clausen, Joe Clausen, Lila Clausen, Caleb Clausen, Mia Clausen, Timothy Pierce Jr, Nikole Florez, and Ava Grace Florez; proud great grandfather of Ismael Gonzalez Jr. ,Veronica Gonzales,John Valdez ,Ayana Rodriguez,Yessenia Arce,Yazmine Arce,Juliana Arce,Samantha Aceves,Basilio Aceves Jr, Luis Godinez, Natalie Godinez, Joshua Antonio, Miyah Antonio, Moana Castro, Malachi West Leon, Gabriel Reyes and Xavier Reyes; loving uncle of Richard Ramirez, Andres Ramirez and many more niece's and nephew's, Great uncle to many that will never forget him.
Basilio worked for Flinkote Roofing Co. until they closed down. Basilio worked as a plasma burner for Castle Metals in Franklin Park until his retirement. He is preceded in death by His parents Basilio R Galaviz Sr. and Manuela Galaviz, Sisters Catalina Rocco,Pauline Ramirez, and his brother Jesus Galaviz Sr. First wife Rosa M. Galaviz (nee Florez) Grandson's Gabriel Alexander and Angel Leon Great Granddaughter Graciella Reyes
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2023 4:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at Leak & Sons funeral Home, 3501 Lincoln Hwy, Matteson, IL 60443. Funeral service Monday, November 27, 2023 visitation from 10:00 a. m. until time of service at 10:30 a. m. at First Apostolic Church, 22709 State Street, Steger, IL 60411. Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 19500 S. Cottage Grove Ave. , Glenwood, IL
