Caroline S. Francis Frankfort - Caroline Brown Francis, 92, of Frankfort, NY, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at St. Eizabeth's Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Poland, NY, to the late Chester and Catherine (Krol) Poplasky. Caroline was a 1947 graduate of Poland Central School where she was active in high school sports. On June 21, 1952, Caroline married Robert L. Brown. During their marriage, Caroline and Robert had six beautiful children. On December 4, 1975, Caroline married for a second time to John Francis. Caroline and John were together until the time of his passing in December, 2009. Caroline will be remembered for her gentle (sometimes too gentle!) spirit, as well as her love of family, friends, music and travel. Some of her best memories were from her international vacations to Portugal and South Africa. Caroline loved living out in the countryside where she kept a meticulous house and took great pride in tending to her large vegetable garden. Caroline is survived by her sons, Douglas Brown, her favorite child, of Utica, and Steven (Patricia) Brown, of Utica; daughters, Deborah (Charles) Newton, Jr. , of Edgewater, FL; Roxanne (Richard) Mirch of Long Eddy, NY; and Laura (Filippo) Casamento, of Frankfort, NY; stepchildren, Kim (Michael) Peppenelli, of Marcy, NY; Valerie (Carl) Schultz, of Venice, FL; Johna (Robert) Walker of Oneida, NY and John (Sandra) Francis of Baldwinsville, NY; her brothers Chester (Maryanne), James (Christine) and Thomas (Deb); sister-in-law Bernadette; twenty-three grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, their families, and many friends. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, five grandchildren, Douglas Brown, Patrick Newton, Charles Newton, III, Zachary Hunter and Vincenzo Casamento; brother Francis Poplasky; sisters Maryanne Lewandrowski, Pauline Woznicki, and Jane Koscinski. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Caroline will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery, Utica. The family would like to thank the nurses and all the people from The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Ilion, NY, who took care of Caroline over the past several years, as well as the nurses and doctors at St. Elizabeth's Hospital who provided much comfort to Caroline during her last days, especially her nurses Nicole and Irene. Woodgate - Patrick Peter Tamburro, of Woodgate, NY, and Sarasota, FL, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 30, 2023, after a most courageous battle with cancer. The son of the late Oscar and Angie Licari Tamburro, he was born in Frankfort, NY, on July 6, 1946. Pete married his loving wife Mary Anne on July 17, 1971, and they shared 52 wonderful years. In February of 1978 their lives were blessed with their amazing son, Nicholas. In 2009, the family welcomed a wonderful daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, and were later blessed with two precious granddaughters, Ellery and Avery, who were the love and joy of Peter's life. A graduate of Frankfort Schuyler High School, he went on to receive both a BS and an MA in Education along with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Administration at Cortland State. He then was awarded an Ed. D. from Syracuse University in 1987. He began his teaching career at Jamesville DeWitt Middle School where he was to become the Assistant Principal. In 1980, he was transitioned to Principal of Moses DeWitt Elementary School. Upon receipt of his Doctorate, he was hired by the Oneida City Schools as Assistant Superintendent in 1987. He advanced to the Superintendency, a job he loved and retired from in 2004. Throughout his life and career he made it clear that children were his priority. His lifelong friendships gave him great joy. He served and participated in numerous community organizations including the United Way, Rotary, BSA and created the Oneida City School District Foundation. Peter is survived by many family members and friends, including his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Roxanne Willoughby; sister-in-law, Loretta Borden; nieces and nephews, Zachary, Annie, Alexis and Austin and his uncle, Sam Licari. He is survived by Licari and Tamburro cousins, along with the Mathew's crew, whom he came to know and love, and his adopted sister, Linda A. He will be remembered by many `Kappa' brothers, Frankfort buddies, the J. D. crew, the White Lake family, the `Somersettlers' of Sarasota, and many other special friends, too numerous to name. His funeral will be held Monday morning August 14, 2023 at 10:30 in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St. , Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul Catena, Pastor. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the V. J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc. 203 Second Ave. , Frankfort. Blase F. DiSano Frankfort - Mr. Blase F. DiSano, 79, of Frankfort passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Ilion on November 10, 1943, the son of the late Blase and Frances Scaparo DiSano. He attended Frankfort school and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1962. He later attended MVCC and SUNY IT. He was married to Sherry Bunce on May 4, 1963 in St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. Blase was a Quality Director for Trenton Technologies for many years. He was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a member of the Richfield Springs Fish and Game Club, Ilion Fish and Game Club and the NRA. Blase especially loved his family and spending time with them and his many friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and trap shoot. Blase is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Sherry; ; two daughters and one son in law, Patti and Peter Palmitesso of Remsen and Laura McManus of Frankfort; one sister, Marietta Merganthaler of Ilion; two brothers and on sister in law, Charles DiSano of Frankfort and John and Gina DiSano of Bonita Springs FL; his aunt, Violet DiMaggio of Frankfort; his cherished grandchildren, Sarah and her husband, Andrew Barberio, Nicole and her husband, Jay Howell, Ross McManus Jr, Blase R. DiSano, Peter Palmitesso, Anthony and his wife, Jenna Palmitesso and Dominick DiSano; seven great grandchildren, Izabella Warren, Payton Warren, Adriana Barberio, Andie Jo Barberio, Sophia Palmitesso, Theo Palmitesso and Alexis Palmitesso; his in laws, Evelyn and Jack Mowers, Mary Lou and Robert Louis, Paula and Alan Ricci and Sheila LaFountain; his special friend and mentor, Albert Mazloom; special friends, Al Wheeler, Paul Huening and Peter Komenderak; a very special cousin and friend, Louie and Diane Astafan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. FRANKFORT - Our beloved mother, Sonya L. Pavia, of Frankfort, NY, passed away peacefully, on April 7, 2023. She was born on April 19, 1964, in Ilion, New York, a daughter of the late Donald Judson and Theresa (Collette) Larabee. She attended Ilion schools. On November 1, 1986, Sonya married Chuck Pavia, in Utica. "Big Chuck" passed away July 14, 2012. We remember Sonya working at Melrose Supermarket in Frankfort for many years. Sonya was an amazing woman inside and out. She loved everyone and cared for so many as her own. Her kindness was known to many who she welcomed into her home. Sonya was the most selfless woman. Anyone who came across her was lifted by her love and beautiful smile. Sonya was a caring and dedicated mother who gave her family all she had. She treasured her role of being a grandmother. Her family was her entire world. Sonya is survived by her 3 children: Chuck and Jessica Pavia, Michael and Nicole Pavia and Monica Pavia and Miguel Washington; by her adored grandchildren, Joey, Savanna, Landon, Easton, Ariella, Audrianna and Richard; her siblings, Kim and Brian Matthews, Debbie and Chuck Burdick, Daureen Hunt, Donna Judson, Sherry Judson, Terry Reesh and Ken Edick, Rebecca Hatmaker, Barbara and Chuck Covey, Micheal Judson, Sr. and Alex Kryshchuk; She leaves behind a very close friend, Rose Brownrigg who had grown to love her like a sister. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all too numerous to mention. FRANKFORT - Daniel J. Tripple, 47, of Frankfort, NY, passed away unexpectedly, in his home, on March 19, 2023. He was born on February 22, 1976, at Herkimer Hospital, to Charles and Nadine (Sweet) Tripple. He attended and graduated from Mohawk Central School, in 1994. Dan leaves behind his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Amanda Tripple and David Lloyd; his beloved son, Vincent Tripple; long term girlfriend, Teira Davis and her daughter, Aurora Davis; life-long friends, Justin Marmet, Shawn McGraw, Heath "Heater," Freddy Overacker, Jeff Ape, Howard Coveny and Jennifer Wilkerson and her daughter, Hannah; and so many more friends than we can list; also, multiple aunts, uncles and cousins; his beloved cats, Oreo and Cookie; and his doxie dog, Wiggles (Olive). He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Dan was such a loving and devoted son, brother, father, partner and friend. Dan's son was his whole life and he would never change that. Dan loved and cherished all of his family and friends in his life. Known to many of his childhood friends as "Trip. " Everyone who knew Dan loved him, he just had a personality that pulled you to him. Dan never met a cat or a dog that he didn't love. Dan was a lifelong sports fan of the Miami Dolphins, New York Yankees and Syracuse Orangemen. Obituary of Katherine A. Edgett Katherine A. Edgett Forest City - Katherine A. Edgett, 81, of Forest City passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022 in Hospice of the Carolinas Foothills with her family by her side. She was born in Frankfort, NY on February 27, 1940, the daughter of the late Andrew and Josephine Tubia Trippen and received her sacraments from the former St. Mary's Church, Frankfort. She attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1957. She was at one time married to Donald Edgett and of the union came three children, Robert, Yvonne and Roxanne. Katherine had several careers throughout her life and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Utica. She was an avid gemologist and made serval pieces of jewelry. Following her retirement, she relocated to Alaska, living with her son Robert for 13 years. In November of 2020 she moved to North Carolina living with her daughter, Yvonne. Being a very religious woman, she continued to contribute to her home church and in Copper City, AK. Katherine is survived by her son, Robert and his wife, Lisa Edgett of Copper City AK, two daughter, Yvonne and her wife, Lynn Ferpes Edgett of Forest City NC and Roxanne Edgett of Sacramento CA; her son, Gary and his wife, Elizabeth Gaborniault of Spring City PA; four sisters, Carmelita Sgroi and Geraldine Olds both of Frankfort, Joanne Dunadee of Webster NY and Teri Hight of Richfield Springs; ten grandchildren, Bobby, Brenton, Shelby, Jared, Brittany, Keith, Killian, Tristen, Declan and Logan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Phylis Leogrande and Agnes Bowman. Her funeral will be held Thursday morning, March 3, 2022 at 9:45 AM from the V. J.
