Carole A. (Chadwick) Morgan, a former longtime resident of Maynard, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham. She was eighty eight years old. Carole was the beloved wife of the late William F. Morgan who passed away in 1999. She is lovingly survived by her three children, Steven Morgan and his wife Mary Lou, Kim Morgan, Paul Morgan and his wife Christine. She was the loving grandmother of Sean, Kara, Dana, Shannon, Trevor, Kyle, Alexandra and Madison and great-grandmother of William, Kaylee, Teagan, Lillian and Evelyn. She also leaves her brother David W. Chadwick as well as a large, loving group of family and friends. She will be dearly missed. Mrs. Morgan was born in Everett, daughter of the late John T. and Mary A. (Carroll) Chadwick. She moved from Everett to Maynard to live with her parents when her husband Bill served overseas in the U. S. Navy. She cried for two weeks thinking she had moved to the other side of the world. Carole was later elected to the Town of Maynard Treasurer/Collector position where she was employed for many years. She enjoyed it thoroughly and upon retirement moved to Mashpee, Ma. Cape Cod was always her own little heaven and she lived there for just over 20 years. Carole very much enjoyed sports, playing tennis and golf for many years. She could probably name the roster of the "Bobby Orr" Bruins. She also loved playing cards. There were many nights when she and Bill would wake the kids up while playing cribbage, accusing each other of cheating! Their conversations were sprinkled with mainly harmless swear words that are spoken freely today, but back then would be cause for a mouth washing with soap. They also played cards with their closest of friends, mostly poker and the house(s) would be full of laughter. The card playing continued for many years when she moved to the Cape, with new friends, old friends and anyone who was interested in joining the club. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, April 25th from 4:00-7:00pm in the Acton Funeral Home 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26th at 10:00AM in St. Bridget's Church 1 Percival Street Maynard. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole's memory may be made to the The Maynard Booster Club, P. O. Box 438, Maynard, MA 01754
