Carol F. Wilcox, 74, of Quincy, IL and formerly of Hannibal, MO passed away at 6:25 AM, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Quincy Healthcare & Senior Living in Quincy, IL. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 15, 2023, at I. O. O. F. Hunnewell Cemetery in Hunnewell, MO. There will be no visitation. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Carol was born October 10, 1948, in Ames, IA, to Gerald Wheeler and Lois Vaught Wheeler. She was married to Joseph Wilcox on February 2, 1969, in Eolia, MO. He survives. Other survivors include her daughter, Faye Wilcox and her significant other of Hannibal, MO; and one granddaughter, Ashley Leighanne Hooper (Devin). Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Billy Joe Wilcox; and stepbrother, Jerry William Wheeler. Professionally, Carol was a Certified Nurse's Assistant at Levering Hospital and area nursing homes for many years. Carol was always looking for treasures, she loved going to flea markets, auctions, and yard sales. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and visiting with her family and friends every chance she got. More than anything, Carol loved and cherished the moments spent with her family, and especially her two dogs. Carol was Christian by faith. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society or to James O'Donnell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO. Fr. Alex Gabriel will officiate. Aurea was born August 22, 1957, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico to Hermogenes Arroyo and Natividad Ayala. She was married to Dr. Erick Calmet on June 23, 2005, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. He survives. Other survivors include her four children, Namir Massini (Danny Yim) of Boston, MA, Orlando Massini of Boston, MA, Julian Massini (Damaris) of Jayuya, Puerto Rico, and Josue Massini (Vicky) of Jayuya, Puerto Rico; seven brothers; six sisters; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Aurea was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. Aurea was a homemaker and loved her family. She enjoyed trips home to Puerto Rico to visit family and friends. Aurea's Catholic faith was always close to her heart and a guiding light in her life. Aurea will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ward "Andy" Anderson Shipley, 76, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 4:34 AM, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at his home in Hannibal, MO. A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will follow at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO. Friends and Family are invited to Andy's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Andy was born April 22, 1947, in Milan, MO to Billy Dale Shipley and Janice Ray Pipes Shipley. He was married to Janet Sue Riley on August 12, 1967, in Hannibal, MO. She preceded him in death on April 11, 2019. Survivors include his four grandchildren, Zach Shipley (Krystlyn), Morgan Shipley (Amanda Parker), Taylor Shipley (Austin Cesonis), and Tristan Shipley; and two great grandchildren, Wayne Shipley and Kit Shipley. Andy is also survived by his good friend, "Animal". In addition to his wife, Andy was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Clay Shipley and Andy Shipley. Andy served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Sergeant, while serving in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1972. Professionally, Andy retired from Continental Cement as a shipping supervisor. A hard worker that was devoted to his family, Andy loved his friends and family. He enjoyed catching up with friends at the Hannibal VFW. Being outside doing yard work and caring for his tomato garden with his grandkids were all activities that Andy took pleasure in. Ghosts, Kansas City Chiefs football and spicy Chex Mix were a few of Andy's favorites. Andy also was fond of the the Muppets character, "Animal" and even had a large stuffed "Animal" that made appearances at family gatherings and occasionally at the VFW. A poetic person, goofy at times, Andy loved to visit with people and often referred to himself as a "teller of truisms". Most of all Andy cherished the moments he shared with his friends and family. Robert Francis "Bob" Janes, 87, of Hannibal, MO passed away at 12:55 am Friday, November 10, 2023, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, MO. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, November 17, 2023, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Pastor Terry Dees will officiate. Burial will be immediately following at the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Hannibal, MO. Friends and Family are invited to Bob's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Bob was born August 10, 1936, in Hannibal, MO to Francis "Frank" and Martha Buskirk Janes. He was married to Myrna Yvonne Aderton on February 4, 1956, in Hannibal, MO. She survives. Other survivors include his sons, David Robert Janes (Jan) of Hannibal, MO, Daniel Patrick Janes (Gina) of Hannibal, MO, daughter, Dana Kay McAfee (Tom) of New London, MO, brothers, Larry Janes (Ernestine) of Hannibal, MO, Pat Janes (Jill) of Hannibal, MO, 10 grandchildren, Katie, Courtney, Jacob, Lee, Emily, Clinton, Weston, Abbey, Amy, Anna, 12 great grandchildren, Bob's "Special Dude", Lyndee Dees, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dennis William Janes, daughter, Deanna Lynn David, brother William Oltman (Betty), and nephew, Bryan Janes. Professionally, Bob was a retired IBEW Union electrician with Local #34 of Quincy, IL. Bob loved to tell stories and always remembered the smallest details. He enjoyed coon hunting over the years and raised many coon hounds during that time. Trips to the rodeo in Cheyenne , WY and camping with his wife Myrna were a few of Bob's favorites. Bob trained quarter horses and was an active member of the Sky View Saddle Club for many years as well. Sports were often a part of Bob's life. He played football at McCooey High School in Hannibal and later helped coach teams there and went on to be a Missouri High School football official for many years. Most of all Bob cherished his family and he always looked forward to the moments they shared together. Bob was Christian by faith. Pallbearers will be Jacob Janes, Lee Janes, Clinton David, Weston David, Steve Leake, and Larry Powell. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.Show more

"Mary Anne Briggs, 73, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born in Davis County, Iowa, on September 26, 1950, the daughter of Harry Chester and Icil Maxine Steele Porter. Mary Anne graduated from Davis County High with the class of 1968 and later continued her education at Gem City College in Quincy, Illinois, where she pursued the trade of Jewelry Design. She was a regular attendee and Sunday morning choir member at First United Methodist Church in Hannibal. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family, caring for her cats, and doing various activities such as thrift shopping. Mary Anne loved to collect things, beginning with the international collections she started while living overseas. She thrived when helping people, and regularly volunteered at the food bank and Douglass Community Center. She did not know a stranger and made new friendships wherever she went. Mary Anne was known for sending greeting cards stuffed with two-dollar bills, never forgetting a birthday, holiday, or other special dates in her family's lives. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Mary Anne is survived by one daughter, Michele Briggs (Travis Brenneis), of Quincy, Illinois; three granddaughters, Rachel Jones, of Quincy, Beth (Jeff) Myers of Palmyra, Missouri, and Kellie Campbell of Arenzville, Illinois; five great-grandchildren, Natalie Myers, Annabella Will, Rhys Spears, Sophia Ingles, and Lydia Myers; two brothers, Terry Porter of Ridgecrest, California, and Danny (Tess) Porter of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mary Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Chester and Icil Maxine Steele Porter, and four brothers, Harry Lee Roy Porter, Gary Wayne Porter, Bary Len Porter, and Jerry Mikel Porter. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Troy Cemetery in Troy, Iowa with Rev. Donna Olinger officiating.
