James Arthur “Jim” Matre, Esq., passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the age of 76. He was born March 9, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late James H. and Ruth (Schuck) Matre. Devoted husband of over 30 years to his surviving wife, Kerrie (Cronin) Matre; father of Andrew (Elizabeth) Matre, Philip Matre, and Ryan (Angela) Cronin; grandfather of Maverick Matre and a baby boy soon on the way; brother of Lorraine (the late Wayne) Maynard, Janet (Tom) Ledonne, Martha (Jon) Stickney, Carol (Miles) Mayhall, and the late Kenneth Matre; dear uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a beloved friend and colleague to many throughout his lifetime. Jim graduated from Moeller High School and completed his undergraduate studies at University of Dayton. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the esteemed Bronze Star as an appointed Intelligence Officer. Following his service, he continued his education at University of Cincinnati Law School. Jim found his niche in Real Estate Law and built his practice, Matre Law Group, serving clients around our tristate area. Jim was soft spoken and observant with a natural curiosity for learning. He enjoyed reading books related to history and crime novels. He was a wonderful boss with a strong will but was kind and took a genuine interest in others. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Dr. James Thomas Trammel. ?Leah was raised in Lockland, OH. She married the love of her life December 26, 1953. She attended the Lockland Baptist church where they met and she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a faithful pastor’s wife for 70 years. She was a prayer warrior, a Godly Christian lady, and a role model to pastor’s wives. She was the Best mother and mother-in-law anyone could have. She loved The Lord, His Church, His people and only Heaven will reveal the lives that have been influenced by the life she lived and the prayers that she has prayed. From the souls she won to Christ, and young preachers and families she prayed for, she made a profound impact for the cause of Christ.She was preceded in death by her parents, Harkes and Rebecca Patrick Johnson, and her loving sisters Virginia Faye Akers(James ) and Iva Mae Gillis (James).She was an adoring mother to her 4 children. James Neil Bengtson, 82, of Cincinnati, OH, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 13, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital Cincinnati, OH.Jim was born May 30, 1941, in Hallock, MN where he grew up and attended Grace Lutheran Church with his family.He excelled in football, basketball, baseball, band, and choir during high school. He attended UND in Grand Forks, as well as MSU in Moorhead, MN. He was an officer navigator in the US Navy.He lived and worked most of his adult life in and around Cincinnati. He spent the last 13 years as a resident of Mt. Washington Care Center where he captured the hearts of the residents and staff. He loved daily activities,(bingo being his all-time favorite especially when us kids came to play), holding the title of King of Hearts on Valentines Day, dressing up in costumes on Halloween (hoping to take the top prize), decorating his room for Christmas and watching sports. He was an avid reader: newspaper front to back daily never missing a crossword puzzle, and books from the library when they visited. He loved to go on outings with the center and his family. His favorites were the casino and Reds games. And finally, he loved karaoke, singing on many occasions to his fellow residents.He was a loving son, husband, and father. He was known by Mr. Bengtson, James, Jim, Jimmy, and Swede; however, he was especially proud of being known as the greatest Poppaw. We all thought he hung the moon for each of us in his own unique way.We know he is in Heaven with Jesus singing in the choir of angels; we will always wish we had more time with him here on earth.Thanks for being our Dad, Poppaw and friend. We Love You?Preceding him in death were his parents, Leonard, and Alice (Bremer) Bengtson, his wife, Linda (Stamper) Bengtson, sister Carol (Bengtson) Broadwell, and brother-in-law Dick Werner.He is survived by his children Melanie (Robert), Valerie, Wendy, Kimberly (Damian) and David (Jennifer); his grandchildren Nicole, Brittany, Erica, Jaimee, Kristina(Kyle), Katelyn, Matthew(Alyson), Kayla, Blake, and Hunter(Evey); and great-grandchildren; Joshua, Savannah, Jesse, Jace, Levi, Logan, Vincent, Monroe, and Delilah; his sister Judy Werner of Fergus Falls, MN, brother Phil (Janelle) Bengtson of Kennedy, MN, brother-in-law Jay Broadwell of North Carolina, and numerous nieces and nephews.Visitation will be at 12:00 pm on February 23, 2024, at Megie Funeral Home, 529 Main St., Milford, Ohio, with Funeral Service to follow at 1 PM in the Craver Chapel. Judith A. Moermond, aged 61, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, in Cincinnati, OH. She was born on June 16, 1962, in Cincinnati, to Betty Jo Schweikert (née Browning) and Robert Schweikert. Judy worked as an IT Project Manager for Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center until her retirement in 2022. She was an avid explorer; she loved to walk around Cincinnati with her friends, complete marathons, and travel to national parks. She was generous with her time and talents; contributing to her fellow Cincinnatians through her involvement in Girls on the Run, Habitat for Humanity, and the Red Cross. Judy was a life-long soccer supporter. Growing up she played goalie and eventually went on to coach local youth soccer. She was a season ticket member for FC Cincinnati since its inception. Judy is survived by her four siblings Bruce Schweikert (Terry), JoEllen McCartney, Brian Schweikert (Joyce), and Laura Wilson (Gary); her three sons Benjamin, Matthew, and Joshua (Ashley); her granddaughter Lily; and many nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others are invited to the visitation to be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Guardian Angels Church.
