Subsequently, his daughters, their spouses, and grandchildren provided David with the honor, peace, and dignity of his transition from this Earth to the next as the gentlemen of the family were able to ensure David's transport was held with dignity and honor. This was one of the most loving and touching moments a son, son-in-law, or grandson could ever have been bestowed upon a patriarch. David was the loving husband of Heidi Faith (Weber) Unterberg. They celebrated their 26th Wedding Anniversary on July 18th, married on 7/18/1997, and together more years prior to their union, being together 28 years, leaving Heidi as Matriarch of this well united Unterberg Tribe. David was born in Chicago, IL, son of the late Lester Ivan Unterberg and Jean (Schellenberger) Unterberg of Allentown, PA. Through the years, David had worked tirelessly advocating for Disabled Veterans through initiating work through many organizations, then ultimately, the PGA Hero Program to raise monies to assist Veterans, their spouses, and families to overcome hardships due to handicaps obtained because of selfless service to our country. David had worked as a Federal Housing Inspector and Grant Writer with his father at Community Programs, Inc, a family owned business, in Allentown, PA for 25 years until retiring upon close of business upon his father's untimely death. David was able to serve tens of thousands low to moderate income families upgrade their homes to modern times through the Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) programs in hundreds of communities in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. David also was an avid outdoor lover. Our family loved mixing up life with camping, cook outs, boating, water skiing, snow mobiling, four wheeling, horse riding, snow skiing, trips to the beach, fishing, swimming, and hiking, as long as a chair for him was present (or a golf cart!)We have grown as a family by being blessed with so many FRAMILY members, and way too many to be listed here.
