Carol J. Jones, age 82, entered into rest on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. She was born October 29, 1939 on the family farm in Colby, Kansas to Henry P. and Jewell E. (Miller) Marcotte. Carol was a graduate of Sherman High in Goodland, Kansas. She married Verlyn Trueblood, August 15, 1957 in Goodland, Kansas and they later divorced. She married Gerald Jones on April 17, 1994 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2019. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Ladies of the Elks both of Concordia. Her hobbies include, crocheting, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with her family. Carol worked for Hallmark Cards, Emporia, Kansas; Fitzgerald Ace Hardware, Blade Empire, Western Power, and was a Salesclerk for F&A Food Sales all of Concordia. She is survived by her two daughters, Jewell Willoughby and Jennifer Trueblood of Concordia, KS. ; step-daughter, Debra Jasperson (Randy), Newton, KS. ; Step-son, Jason Jones, Concordia, KS. ; one sister, Pearlie Chadwick, Delores, CO. ; five grandchildren, Heather, Starla, Elizabeth, Kyle, and Kevin; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, parents, Henry and Jewell, five sisters, Marge McCants, Dorothy Gilbert, Betty Goodhue, Elizabeth Stull, and Shirley Scott. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Family has selected cremation and a Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p. m. , Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas, with Rev. Kibum Kim officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Hollis Cemetery, Hollis, Kansas. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church c/o Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
