Raymond Wilbert Tiller, 89, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Cullman, Alabama. Ray lived his whole life in Montana, before moving to Alabama, six months earlier to be with his family. Raymond was born in Lewistown, Montana, on October 31, 1934, where he met Phyllis Marie Farmer. They married April 23, 1954. They had three children. They were married forty-three years. Phyllis died in 1997 and Raymond never remarried.Ray loved the outdoors, fishing to him was therapy. He loved to share his fishing knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. He would share his knowledge about the Bible and creation with anyone who would listen.Mr. Tiller is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leo Tiller, Sr. and Grace Caroline Bachman Tiller; wife, Phyllis Marie Tiller; son, Jerry Tiller; and sisters, Florence Hart and Jackie Anderson.Ray is survived by his daughters, Susan Leksen (Alan), Charlene Self (Gregg); grandchildren, Britian Tiller, Sherry Tiller, Tyler Walston, Melissa Walston, Shania Morast; four great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Tiller, Jr; and daughter-in-law, Terry Tiller.The Tiller family will celebrate the life of Ray with a memorial service at a later date.Mr. Tiller’s obituary was provided by the Tiller family.Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the Tiller family.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at two o’clock p.m. at the McRae Chapel with Bro. Tony Holcomb, Jerri Manasco, and Dewie Grimsley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, February 12, 2024, from noon until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Allred was born in Kansas on June 23, 1967, to Carlos & Suzanne Burklow Allred. He worked in maintenance in the poultry industry and lumber industries and later with West Rock in Cullman. Mr. Allred is survived by his Wife: Suzanne T. Allred of Cullman, Daughters: Randi Nichole & Juan Cortes of Albertville, Rebecca & Manuel Emery of Blountsville, and Sara & Kody Simmons of Albertville, Grandchildren: Gianna Cortes, Camila Cortes, Karlyn Emery, Katelyn Emery, Cooper Emery, Maccie Beck, and Braylee Simmons, Parents: Carlos "Bud" & Suzanne Allred of Boaz, Sister: Carla & Scott Rhodes of Cullman and Nephews: Will & Joshua Rhodes. Mr. Higgins was survived by his wife of 25 years Rhonda Higgins, sons Daulton James Higgins, Dyllen Andrew Higgins (Alexus), daughter Brittney Eve (Rainey), brother Bobbie Higgins (Amy), his sister Carol Rodriguez (Louis), 1 great-granddaughter and several uncles, aunts and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Parker and Carolyn Cook Higgins. The family will receive friends at Blount County/ Cleveland Funeral Home 17885 St. Hwy. 160 Cleveland, Alabama 35049 Tuesday, February 27th, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 27th, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Blount County /Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tyler Cantrell officiating. Burial to follow at High Rock Cemetery in Hayden, Alabama. Mr. Higgins was a member of Church of New Beginnings in Blountsville, Alabama. He enjoyed working on cars and had a great passion for playing the drums. He loved his dogs very much, he never met a stranger, but most of all he loved his family very much. Lorena Mae Spinks Maloney passed away February 14, 2024 in Cullman, Alabama. She was born January 14, 1934, in Fluker, Louisiana to John Ellis Spinks and Lela Belle Carter Spinks, who were farmers in Tangipahoa Parish. Upon her high school graduation in Franklinton, LA, she moved to New Orleans. There, while working at the Chart Room in the French Quarter, she met Augustus Maloney, a patron and sailor recently discharged from the Navy. They fell in love, married and had two sons. Gus, a boilermaker, relocated the family to Illinois for work. Lorena began work at Morton Community Bank (MCB) in Morton, IL. She loved the banking environment and loved her friends at the bank. Upon Gus' retirement, the family moved to Mobile, AL where Lorena continued work in banking. Upon the death of her husband, she moved back to Illinois and back to work at MCB, where she stayed until her retirement. Ultimately, Lorena moved to Alabama to be near family. She was active in church and had strong faith in God. Predeceasing her are her mother, father and husband. She is also predeceased by brothers Wilmer, Delmar and Jack, and sisters Cola, Mable, Margie and Alice. Lorena is survived by sons Timothy of Peoria, IL and Christian (Sharon) of Blountsville, AL, sister Lola Stogner of Pasadena, Texas, and many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held prior to internment at Pine Crest Cemetery West in Mobile, Alabama. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her memory.

Rebecca Frances Holmes Qualls age 82, passed away February 12, 2024. Becky was a native of Cullman, AL although she had lived in Huntsville, AL for the last 30 years. Becky moved back to Cullman last year with her dog Izzy. Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband Eddie Rae Qualls, mother Ona Lee Holmes, and her father Tignal Holmes. Becky is survived by her son Steven (Scarlett P.) Mark Qualls of Huntsville, AL, brother Tignal “Tek” (Elizabeth) Holmes Jr. of Huntsville, AL, grandchildren Gabrielle Lee Qualls of Huntsville, AL, Jordan Rae Qualls of Atlanta, GA, Jarrett Mark Qualls of Huntsville, AL, and her nephews Weston Tek Holmes and Casey Braeden Holmes. Becky lived for her friends and family, and loved cooking for them. She cherished her three grandchildren and can be reflected on as an incredibly giving individual. A Celebration of Life Memorial service and reception will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12:30 PM at Moss Service Funeral Home in the Fireside Room. Followed by a graveside service at Cullman city Cemetery at 2 PM.

Sessions, Rev. Ronald Phillip SR. age 86 of Cullman, AL. died Saturday, February 10, 2024. Phillip was born on July 30, 1937, at home, in Lanett, AL to William Riser and Lorene Styres Sessions. After serving as a police officer and postman in Birmingham, AL. He felt called to the ministry and became a preacher in the Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Sessions served his denomination well. He pastored for over 40 years, 9 ½ of which he served as the District Superintendent of Alabama South District Church of the Nazarene. Phillip earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lael University and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. He was preceded in death by his parents: William Riser and Lorene Sessions. Rev. Sessions is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Whittle Sessions; daughter, Cheryl Sessions White (Les); sons: Ronald Phillip Sessions Jr. (Vanessa), James Mark Sessions (Christy), and Stephen Scott Sessions (Amy); sister, Barbara Ann Ragsdale; brother, William Riser Sessions, Jr.; 13 Grandchildren: and 14 Great Grandchildren. The Sessions family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the celebration of Rev. Sessions’ life will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel. Brenda Gail Parrish passed away peacefully at her home on February 10, 2024. Brenda was born in Cullman, Alabama on February 27, 1949. She was preceded in death by her parents Faye Buchmann Daniel and Bobby Rayburn Reeder, and her brothers Bobby W. Reeder and Danny Reeder. Brenda attended Cullman High School. She received a degree in Nursing from Wallace State Community College. She worked in several areas of nursing in Cullman and Birmingham over her many years including doctor’s offices, hospitals and home health. She loved nursing and was very compassionate in caring for her patients. Brenda is survived by her son Tim Jones of Cullman, sister Cindy Blevins and husband Robert of Houston, Texas, sister Donna Chandler of Cullman, aunt JoAnn Hinkle and husband David of Cullman and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family would like to sincerely thank the loving caregivers who took care of Brenda during her final years. A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10:00am at Cullman City Cemetery.
