She was born in Los Angeles, California on April 10, 1936. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard (Dick) Casper. She is survived by her daughter Teresa Gilster and son-in-law Dan Gilster, daughter Lori Bailey-Kelly and son-in-law Tom Kelly, sister Linda Maeser, grandchildren Austin Bailey and Connor Bailey. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or MSK Cancer Center. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She married her husband Dick Casper in 1955 in California. She had two daughters, Teresa and Lori. In 1971, the family moved from southern California to Omaha, NE to open an International House of Pancakes restaurant. After selling that business years later, Carol opened a craft shop called the Village Peddler at 76 and Pacific in Omaha. She was so talented, and her craft store was very popular. After selling that business, she got involved in the weight loss industry. She opened the first Diet Center in Omaha. She grew that business and eventually had 4 locations in Omaha. In 1989, her husband passed away and she made the decision to sell the business. She started an entire new career working for a company called DTN in Omaha in 1992. She excelled at sales and loved what she did. Besides working at DTN, she worked part-time for Younkers selling Clinique cosmetics. In 2011, she was diagnosed with Uterine cancer. She went thru chemo and radiation. She successfully fought the cancer and worked the entire time going thru her treatments. In 2016, she retired from DTN, but continued to work part-time. When Younkers closed, she went to work for Dillard's at Oakview Mall. She continued to work part-time at Dillard's selling Clinique cosmetics until she was diagnosed with colon cancer in October 2022. Carol loved helping others, shopping, decorating, going to movies, and traveling. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
