Shirley May Ambjornson (Glover), age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2023. Born and raised in San Francisco, CA, she attended Balboa High School. She spent her final years living in Antioch and Martinez, CA with her youngest daughter, Kimberly. She was a devout Christian and attended Westside Baptist Church in Pacifica, CA for several years with her family. She enjoyed coffee & toast, holding her purse, animals (especially cats and raccoons), drawing, and collecting coins, buttons & baby dolls. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Williams. She is survived by her four children: Ronald Joseph Mirabelli, Sandra Rose Mirabelli, Janis Ambjornson, and Kimberly Dawn Rivera (Ambjornson); her grandchildren: Sarah Monique Webb, Angelina Liggins, Ana-Marie Urbieta, Dimas-Daniel Urbieta, Francisco Mirabelli, Tatiana Salazar, Desiree Salazar, Daniella Reid, Alyssa Reid, Miranda Rivera, Noelani Rivera, Olivia Rivera, Lucian Rivera, and Presley Rivera; and her great-grandchildren: Savannah Webb, Nehemiah Webb, Jaiden Liggens, Jasper Liggins, Jaleel Liggins, and Xochi Burriesce-Urbieta; and several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Rest in peace, Mom, Gramma Shirley, Auntie Shirley. You will be missed. Friends may visit on Sunday, December 10 from 4-8pm and Monday, December 11, 2023 from 3pm-7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. A private funeral for family will follow. George Byers Jr

Born in Columbus Ohio to George and Dorothy Byers who preceded him in death along with his loving wife Diane Nolan Byers, George Byers IV, and Jenny Byers McCloskey. George, known as Buddy or Bubba by his grandchildren, graduated from the Columbus Academy and attended Ohio University. He is survived by his three children, Lynn Barno, George Byers III, and Beth Sells, 6 grandchildren and 16 great children. Buddy was active in the sport of power boat racing for over 80 years, being the youngest member admitted to the Scioto Boat Club. As a driver he set many speed records in the 7-liter class, with 5 consecutive National Championships and a world record that still stands. He served as the APBA chairman for the Unlimited for many years. Buddy was very active in the Columbus Auto Dealers Association while running a very successful group of automobile dealerships in Central Ohio . He served on the Columbus International Airport Commission for twenty years, three terms as president, being a pilot himself. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers he had at the Bluebird in London, Ohio and Ohio Valley Hospice for the trying times. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 9, 2023 at 2pm followed by a visitation until 5pm at Schoedinger Midtown, 229 East State St. Columbus, Ohio 43215. Jack Kamer

Age - 84

Jack Kamer passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Dec. 1st, 2023. Jack was born in Columbus, Ohio to Minnie and Edward Kamer. He graduated from West High School where his interest in Theatrical Lighting and Sound Production began. Jack continued these studies at The Ohio State University, and became a Stagehand with IATSE Local #12, working in movies, live concerts, and local performances. He met his future wife Daryl, during performances of "The Merry Widow" at the Sullivant Theatre on the O. S. U. Campus. She was a dancer in the cast, and he was working on lighting the show. After their marriage, their love of dance combined with a local need for a professional ballet company, led to them being among the group of founding members of BalletMet. A fervent supporter both backstage and in the audience, Jack remained passionate for BalletMet throughout his life. In 1981 The Ohio Theatre was looking for an Assistant Stage Manager and Jack was able to return to his roots. He held that position until his retirement in 2004. Like BalletMet, the Ohio held a special place in Jack's heart. When not working, Jack could be found enjoying nature. His love of the outdoors started early when he joined Boy Scout Troop # 45. His troop members became lifetime friendships, especially that with Ken Danter, which continues to this day. Campfires, camping, canoeing, boating and hiking were experiences from his youth that he shared with his family and friends. Jack began a love affair with sailing when an acquaintance from church needed help crewing during sailing races at Alum Creek Reservoir. Eventually, Jack studied for and passed his Captain's license through the USCG. Jack and his boat, Glisse, sailed up and down the Intracoastal waterway, on Chesapeake Bay and on Lake Erie, with family and dear friends, Mark and Kay Heigh. Jack is survived by his loving family - wife, Daryl, daughters, Darielle and Aimee, sons in law, Matthew Eberhard and Kevin Yania, grandsons, Lance Walker (Heather) and Connor Eberhard, nephew Jeff Kamer, and many dear friends. Jack's family will receive visitors from 4pm to 6pm Wednesday, Dec. 13th at Schoedinger Midtown, 229 E. State St. , 43215. A memorial service will take place from 11am to 12 noon Thursday, Dec. 14th at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Rd. 43230. Claire Stella Brasher, 87, of South San Francisco, California, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. She was born to parents Mary and Emory Speck, on January 10, 1936 in San Francisco, California. Claire was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. For over 70 years she was a homemaker and briefly worked as a telephone operator for PacBell. She raised six children and was the grandmother to eight children and five great grandchildren. Claire met Charles Brasher in 1961. They were married on February 22, 1963 in Reno, Nevada. Together they raised six children: Diane, Sandra, Marianne, Robert, Teresa and Charles. Claire is survived by Diane Marbello, daughter; Marianne Harp, daughter; Robert Brasher, son; Teresa Haney, daughter; Charles Brasher, son; Michelle Harp, granddaughter; Joy Marbello, granddaughter; Bryan Brasher, grandson; David Arneson, grandson; Brandon Harp, grandson; Melissa Brasher, granddaughter; Shelby Haney, granddaughter; Katie Harp, granddaughter; Caprice Robinson, great granddaughter; Matthew Harp, great grandson; Braden Garcia-Harp, great-grandson; Emilia Colombo, great granddaughter; William Harp, great grandson; Hilary Ericson, Niece; and Tyler Speck, Nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Emory Speck, husband Charles Brasher, former husband Thomas Mansfield, Sr. , brother Emory Speck Jr. , and daughter Sandra Arneson. The family has entrusted Garden Chapel with the arrangements. A Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 12 pm and Chapel Service to begin at 1 pm at 885 El Camino Real, South San Francisco, California. A reception will follow. Barbara Cross, age 76, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at University Hospital of Ashland. She was blessed to be surrounded by her family that loved her so very much. Barbara was born February 8, 1947 in Mansfield, Ohio to parents Glenn and Lucinda (Hembree) Kendall. She was a 1965 graduate of Malabar High School. Barbara worked at K-mart for 14 years as a supervisor until leaving there in 1993. She also worked at Therm-O-Disc for 20 years as an op checker operator and inspector until retiring in 2008, working both for 5 years. She made many friends at both. Barbara was a very loving, gentle, giving woman who loved making jewelry, crafts, and spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed music and dancing. As grandchildren came along, she loved spoiling them and spending time playing with them as much as she could. As great-grandchildren came along the spoiling continued as did the playing and loving them as hard as she could. Barbara was a remarkable mother, always there to lend a hand with anything or simply be there to listen or give advice. Her beautiful smile and her hugs were the best, you felt safe and loved. Those will be greatly missed. She is survived by daughter, Lisa (David) Murch; grandchildren, David Doss, Heather (Josh) Buren, Holly (Jacques) Doss Cowan, and Savannah Cross; great-grandchildren, Madalynn, Dominque and Mateo; sister, Kathy Crank; nephew, Danny (Misty) Crank; great-nephew, Cody (Deborah) Crank; great-niece, Cada Crank and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family. In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her baby boy, Walter Lee; great-grandchild, Baby Cowan; brother-in-law, James E. Crank Sr. ; nephew, James Crank Jr. ; uncle, Otis Kendall; and aunt, Elsie Kendall. Her family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. Rev. The daughter of the late Eliseo and Mary Belluomini; The Beloved wife of the late Mario Raffaelli for 50 years; Loving mother of Mark (Pati), Wayne (Pam), Kevin (Elizabeth); Adored grandmother of Anthony (Pauline), Casey (deceased), Josh (Sarah), Gabriel (Brenda), Isaac (Lila), Raffaelli; Rickard (Jennifer) Fletcher; eight great- grandchildren, adopted grandmother to Sarah Boden (Derrick), Christopher Ivester, and Matthew Veronda. Sister-in-law to Sr. Mario Raffaelli, Laura (Paul deceased) Cardelli and Ray and Terry Raffaelli (deceased) and many nieces and nephews. She was born in South San Francisco and raised her family on the same street she grew up on. A devoted parishioner of All Souls Church her entire life, and the Secretary at All Souls School for 40 years. She served on several church and school committees. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed watching the Giants, Forty-Niners and golf.
