Carol Ann (Williams) Adley, 81, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 in Azle. She was born June 11, 1942 to Robert Edward and Daisy Mae (Jones) Williams in Sulphur Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughters, Melissa Cook and Cheryl Gilley. Carol grew up in River Oaks where she attended Castle-berry High School. Later she worked in the Mortgage business for many years. Carol was a long time member of the Lakeside Church of God in Lakeside. She had many interest including shopping, watching soap operas, crafting, dancing and going to casinos. Carol most enjoyed spending time with her family and loving on her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Randal Adley; son, Clifton Cook and his wife Leann; daughters, Carol Nicole Hill, Michelle Tennison and her husband Rick Winter, Patty Kinney; brother, Fred Williams and his wife Joella; grandchildren, Logan, Landon,Wyatt, Candice, Casey, Tierney, Ricky Terry, John, Carsyn, Carlie, Aurora several great-grandchildren nieces nephews and extended family and friends. Carol was a loving Wife, Sister, Mother, grandmother and our Little Princess. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Azle, Texas- Felix (Kino) Ortega, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 26, 2023 surrounded by his family. Funeral Service: 12 p. m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p. m. Monday, December 4, 2023 at Mount Olivet Chapel in the Breyley Suite. Felix was born in Marlin, Texas on March 31, 1937, to John and Kathleen Ortega. Felix was united in holy matrimony to Gloria Sifuentes on November 29, 1958. He had many titles working as a carpenter and manufacturer of mobile homes. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his brothers and their families. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In 1976, he began his journey with the Lord and became an active member of the church where he served as a deacon for many years. He dedicated his time with missionary work in Mexico with his wife by his side. Felix shared the word with anyone and everyone who would listen. He sat on the porch every morning with a cup of coffee in his hand and read his Bible daily until his health kept him from doing so. Felix was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathleen Ortega of Marlin, Texas; brothers, Frank Ortega, John Ortega, Phillip Ortega and Domingo Ortega all of Fort Worth, Texas. His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his surviving family members which include his loving wife, Gloria Ortega of Azle, Texas; brothers, Timothy Ortega of Marlin, Texas and Guadalupe Ortega of Haslet, Texas; son, Felix Ortega Jr. of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Cindy Batista and husband, Ray of White Settlement, Texas; son, Felipe Ortega of Azle, Texas; daughter, Diana Ortega and husband, Edward Zavala of Fort Worth Texas; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Show more

Shirley Dean Barnum, born on January 26, 1953, in Brownwood, TX, to J. D. and Mary Ellen Barnum, peacefully passed away on November 26, 2023. Shirley's life was a testament to love, joy, and cherished moments. A devoted mother, Shirley's adoration for her children was immeasurable, defining her life's greatest joy. She found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially in the serenity of fishing and camping, where nature provided a tranquil escape. Her love for country dancing echoed her vibrant spirit, and she thrived in the company of family and friends. Shirley's enthusiasm for the holidays was infectious, her home transformed into a festive wonderland, creating enduring memories with all who gathered around her. Shirley Dean Barnum leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Though she may no longer be present, her spirit and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. She has been reunited with her son, James Allen Jenkins; parents, J. D. and Mary Ellen Barnum; brother, Danny Wayne Barnum; and her two sisters, Gearldine Barnum and Mary Elizabeth Cato.
