Myrna Renales
Age - 70
November 10, 2023
Myrna Delos Reyes Renales passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on October 17, 2023, after enduring a long battle with cancer. She was 70 years old.
Myrna didn't lose the battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined and only thought of the ones she loved. While anyone else would have broken, Myrna stayed strong to her last breath until she saw every one of her children. Through her, the family learned what love, resilience, and perseverance genuinely look like. There was no quitting in Myrna. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.
Myrna was born in Santa Ana, Manila, Philippines, on January 9, 1953. She was the daughter of Tagumpay Delos Reyes and his wife, Loreta Delos Reyes and the oldest of 11 siblings.
Myrna met the love of her life, Efren Sr. , as neighbors in the Philippines. Efren Sr. and his friends would come to Myrna's corner store with a guitar and sing songs. Efren Sr. competed with other neighborhood boys to win her heart. The two eventually grew closer as Efren Sr. would never quit on opportunities to be near Myrna, such as attending her church and participating in youth activities beyond his comfort zone. Seems perseverance was a common ground.
Fast forward, Efren Sr. went off to US Navy boot camp and told Myrna, "I will come back for you. " Efren Sr. returned to the Philippines as promised, and the two were married, excited to start their new lives as one on March 20, 1972. A year later, they began a family of their own.
Eventually, Myrna's children had children, which was her favorite role, Lola. She treasured her time with the grandkids and loved being their Lola. Myrna has a large family and always makes time for everyone. She provided, supported, and loved her family, working tirelessly to give them opportunities never offered. She would proudly boast of her blessings for her children and grandchildren.
Myrna will always be remembered for her stubbornness, impatience, authoritativeness, distressed emotions, and imperfect role model status (at times). Conversely, that amplifies her unconditional love, support, strength, bravery, knowledge, and hard work. Some may say there is no manual for being a super mom, grandmother, or wife. Yet, Myrna created multiple chapters of life lessons that her family could utilize in their own lives and homes.
Myrna's family couldn't have asked for a better parent or grandparent, and she will be missed every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Myrna was predeceased by her husband, Efren C. Renales, and grandson, Efren Renales III. She is survived by her five children (Edmyr, Ehly, Efren Jr. , Edgar, and Myra) and 18 surviving grandchildren (Dominic, Victoria, Romeo-jay, Richard, Ryan, Raymond, Aleyah, Aiden, Malia, Maraine, Emma, Eliana, Elijah, Richmond, Maraiya, Marley, Harper, and Eiji. )
They invite you to join them for a Celebration of Life service. It will occur at Bonita Road Baptist Church on November 11, 2023, at 5 PM. Visitations for Myrna will be held on the same day at the same location, 2-5 PM and 6-9 PM.
