Carlton Posey Obituary

CARLTON FRANKLIN POSEY, age 70 of Brent, passed away on April 10, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was born in Tuscaloosa, AL on January 28, 1953; the son of the late William Allen Posey, Sr. and the late Etta Mae Creel Posey. Carlton retired from the Alabama Army National Guard as a warrant officer after 41 years of honorable service. He loved to travel and spend time outdoors where he would work with his flowers and garden. He also enjoyed attending little league sporting events where he would watch his great grandchildren play. He will be remembered as a helper to all who needed anything. He is survived by: Son, Carlton F. Posey, Jr. of Brent; Daughter, Meg (Joshua) Cottingham of Brent; Grandsons, Hal and Coleman Cottingham of Brent; Best Friend and Companion, Linda Mobley of Brent; Special Son, Bryan (Carla) Mobley of Centreville along with his son Keith Mobley of Jemison, daughters Brittany Averette of Brent and Mattie Horton of Jemison; and Brother-in-Law, Bill Murphy of Centreville. He is preceded in death by: Wife, Beth Posey; Parents, William and Etta Posey; and Sister, Ann Murphy. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 11:00am in Pineland Memorial Park in Centreville, AL with Rev. Kenneth Fuller officiating.
