"Melinda Sue McCarter, age 57, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior with her family by her side on February 18, 2024. Melinda was born on June 26, 1966, to Garland and Omega Lambert in Denison, Texas. She graduated from Dickson High School. She worked as a CNA caring for people on home health and worked as a swamper. She loved God and enjoyed gardening, especially roses. She also enjoyed working out. On April 20th, 2021, she married William McCarter. She is preceded in death by her father, Garland Lambert. Left to cherish her memories is her husband William McCarter Jr. of the home, her mother Omega Lambert. Her children Justin Greenwood and Tylar Smith. Her stepchildren William McCarter III, Richard McCarter, and Shanie Faye McCarter. Her brothers Eddie McPherson, Jerry Pool, and sister Wendy Melton. Grandchildren Avery Smith, Tammy Jo Smith, Hunner Smith, William McCarter IV, Lane McCarter, Garred McCarter, Talon McCarter, Hinder McCarter, Brylan McCarter, Ryder McCarter, Carson McCarter, Lennox McCarter, and Addison McCarter. Along with many friends and extended family. Melinda will be in state on Wednesday, February 21st from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM for people to pay their respects at Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant. He enjoyed traveling, race cars, and gambling. He especially loved music and spending time with his family. He was witty and funny and will be remembered for his sense of humor. Millie passed away on February 15, 2024, in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 88. Millie married Vernon White on December 23, 1950, and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1970. She later married Thad Jackson on August 10, 1972, and he preceded her in death on January 14, 1997. Millie is preceded in death by her parents Mark and Ola Vandevier; first husband Vernon White; second husband Thad Jackson; sons Lowell Lee White Leslie Ray White; daughters in laws Phyllis White, Regina White, and Ruth Ann White; grandson James Lee White; brothers Richard Vandevier, Carl Lesley Vandevier, and G.W. (Dub) Vandevier; and sister Elizabeth Ruth. Millie is survived by her son Lonnie Gene White and his wife Gwendylen; son Lindal White and his wife Faye; stepson Thad Jackson Jr.; grandchildren Michelle and husband Scott, Alan, Mandy and husband Jacob, Tiffany and husband Aaron, and Vernon; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services to celebrate Millie’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2024, at Browns’ Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma. Pastor Rayden Whitmire will officiate. The couple made their first home in Springfield, Ohio. She lived in Phoenix, Arizona, Urbana, Ohio before settling in Woodward, Oklahoma. Charlotte worked in the HR department for Walmart. She enjoyed playing solitaire, doing puzzles and words with her friends. She loved camping, family gatherings and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Charlotte is survived by her children, Martin Adams and wife Tami, Bret Adams and wife Terry, Jerry Adams and wife Laura, Kim Moe and husband Randy, Tara Crow; daughter in law, Kim Stant; 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Cody Joe Odom passed away at home on February 8, 2024, in his hometown of Durant, Oklahoma. He was born on July 31, 1980, in the same close-knit community, to David Odom and Katherine (Bourne) Odom.His legacy lives on through his devoted wife, Sarah, and their four cherished children, Jessica, Kinsley, Judd, and Tate. He is also survived by his siblings Heather Chloupek, Dana Hagans, JD Crowley and his wife Alison, Steven Potts and his wife Amy, Tamara Ogden, and Joey Hobbs and his wife Sheila. Also, his stepmother, Deborah Odom, and parents-in-law, Rod and Elia Reyes, along with sisters-in-law Amy Ramos and her husband Ruben, and Stephanie Makke and her husband Richard, will forever hold Cody's memory in their hearts, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.Preceding Cody in death are his parents David Odom and Kathy Crowley.Cody was a respected Team Lead at Oklahoma Natural Gas, where his leadership and dedication were evident to all who worked alongside him. His love for the great outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. He found solace and joy in nature, whether he was camping under the stars, hunting in the early morning light, or fishing in the tranquil waters of Oklahoma's lakes and rivers. His passion for the outdoors was a gift he shared with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Cody also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Those who had the pleasure of enjoying a meal prepared by Cody will fondly remember the care and love he poured into every dish.His family will receive friends at his Family Hour on Monday, February 12, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. He graduated from the Duncan High School in 1963. He and Kaye (Brewer) Hatzenbuehler were married August 29, 2008 in Duncan, Oklahoma. He worked as a machinist for the Halliburton Energy Service. He enjoyed archery, making long bows and flint arrows, riding motorcycles and fishing. He was a member of the River Church in Durant, Oklahoma.
