Carl Thomas Mau ("Tom") of Audubon, Pa. , passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. He was 84 years old. Born in Kingston, Pa. , he was the son of Carl Edward and Dorothy (nee Evans) Mau. Tom is preceded in death by his daughter Lauren Eileen Mau-Stewart (Derek Stewart). He is survived by his wife Clorinda DiDomenico-Mau, his son Thomas Evans Mau (Susan), and his sisters Janice Burton (Joseph) and Beth Anne Sharkey (the Late Robert). Tom was raised in the Delaware County, PA area. He attended and graduated from Lansdown-Alden High School - Class of 1956. He then attended Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA and graduated with a BS in 1960. After college he began a career in the insurance industry and also joined the US Army Reserves, splitting his time between work and military duty. Once his service was completed, Tom continued his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance. He studied for and attained his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter); later becoming Branch Manager of the Norristown, PA office. Tom continued with Met Life for just over twenty years until it was time for a career change in a completely different direction. Having grown up in the printing and publishing industry, Tom returned to his roots and with his best friend, Stanley Markizon, he started a commercial printing company in Media, PA - later expanding to a second location in Upper Darby, PA. Simultaneously, he revived a local publication - Delaware County Today Almanac - originated and published by his father, Carl Mau. Tom continued both the printing and publishing business for decades until his retirement. Throughout his life, Tom was dedicated to community service as a member of: the Bridgeport- Upper Merion Lions Club, the JayCee's, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and many other service organizations. Tom's hobbies and interests were numerous, including: Woodworking, Building & Home Improvement, Landscaping & Gardening and has been a life-long Philadelphia sports fan - most especially the Phillies and Eagles. Relatives and friends are invited to Tom's Life Celebration on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 10:00am until his Memorial Service at 11:00am at the Boyd Horrox Givnish Life Celebration Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA 19401.
