Carl E Gaiser of Farmington Hills passed away on October 4, 2023, at 98 years of age He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 27, 1924 Beloved husband of the late Doris for 57 years and the late Lorain Loving father of Carl Gaiser, Gary (Gail) Gaiser, the late Gayle (the late Glenn) Bachman, Kurt Gaiser, and Beth (Kevin) Oldham Dearest grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of six Carl was predeceased by his parents Carl G Gaiser, Emma Gaiser, and Lottie Gaiser; and his brothers Frederick (Dolores) Gaiser and Lawrence Gaiser Also survived by sister-in-law, Carlene Gaiser Visitation Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 3-8 pm at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home, 33603 Grand River Avenue, Farmington, Michigan 48335 Instate Monday, October 9, 2023 from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am at Faith Baptist of Canton, 47500 Warren Rd , Canton, Michigan 48187 Interment will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia, Michigan Memorial contributions may be directed to Faith Baptist of Canton or Hope Lutheran of Farmington Hills Carl spent his early years in a predominately German area of East Detroit, MI Like most families at that time, they grew vegetables, had fruit trees, raised chickens, had a cow, and grew grapes for jelly and wine At a very young age, Carl displayed artistic talent for drawing and design This talent would eventually lead him to study architecture When WWII began, Carl left high school and enlisted in the U S Navy He proudly served the United States in the Aleutian Islands, enduring bitter cold while constructing naval air runways Before the end of his navy service, Carl and Doris were married in Seattle, WA in 1945 Carl then completed his high school education, began an apprenticeship while studying architecture, and started raising a family Carl pursued a career in architecture, initially designing homes His portfolio grew to include office buildings, multi-family housing, and eventually churches He gained a well-respected reputation for church design throughout Michigan, the Midwest, and Florida Carl and Doris loved to travel Their adventures took them to Europe, Asia, and even to the South Pacific Though they loved seeing the world, their true joy was found surrounded by family and friends at Higgins Lake After the passing of Doris, Carl met Lorain They enjoyed many years together later in life Carl was always optimistic and a man of strong faith He'll be dearly missed
