"Nita," as she was called, was born February 3, 1963, in Plant City, Florida to the parents of Robert L. Brown and Margaret Ruth Adams. She was raised in Trilby, Florida by her great-grandmother Lizzie Nivins Welsby, her great aunt Lizzie D. Johnson and her grandmother Cleo Brown Byrd. She attended elementary and high school in Pasco and Hernando Counties. With the completion of two Associate of Arts Degrees from Pasco Hernando Community College in Dade City, Florida and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Middle Grade Education from St. Leo College in San Antonio, Florida, she was employed for 25 years in the Pasco County School System. She was a member of Glorious COGIC in Trilby Florida under the leadership of Elder Philip T. Williams. It was there that her servant's heart led her to become an avid worker in the Lord's vineyard. Nita was also the Owner and CEO of "Carie da Bling Queen Jewels. " This Paparazzi Accessories company adorned numerous with bling and splendor. Nita was preceded in death by her father and mother: Robert L. Brown and Margaret Ruth Adams; her grandparents, Johnny Brown, Sr. and Cleo Brown Byrd; and her siblings, Helen M. Brown, Mark Anthony Scott, and Eugene Adams. Her earthly departure has caused sentiments of anguish and grief among her sons, DeMarkriis E. Boles and DeVon R. Hicks; grandson:,DeCari R. Hicks; brothers and sisters, Johnny L. Brown, Lisa Brown, Anthony Brown, Mary N. Brown, Sean Brown, Stacey Boyce (Gary) and Roberta Brown; nieces and nephews, Antwion Peyton Brown, Abigail Peyton, Auvey Peyton, Amaya Peyton, and Ayrie Peyton; one who became like a mother, Mrs. Neudie Scott; bonus sisters, Betty Davis, Regina Clemmons, Linda Cony, Elvira Lee, Sheila Scott, and Monica Russ; cousin sisters, Maxine Waddell and Cynthia Robinson; cousin brothers, Frank Johnson, Rodney Johnson and Roger Johnson; god children, Shalonda Harris, Shaquandra O'Neil, Devorian Brown, Alysa Black, Antwanique Blaine, Eunique Byrd, Johnny Payton, and Terry Woodard. With an inherent "Midas' Touch," Nita perpetuated and created many golden relationships not only in the Pasco community but beyond in other communities and states; thus, there are still countless other family and friends who also sorrow. On Sunday, September 3rd, as she gathered family and other beloved ones around her, Carie Denise "Nita" Brown lay serene and ever listening for the Savior's call. The call came on that day at 7:20 PM. As evidenced by her life and by her own testimony, Carie Denise "Nita" Brown died in Christ. As further evidenced by 1 Thessalonians 4, "The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. . . " And on that wonderful day, Nita will hear His voice again: "Rise up Carie Denise "Nita" Brown, RISE UP!"
