Mr. Hubert Calvin McBurnett, age 90, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away April 23, 2019, just three days after celebrating his 90th birthday. He was born April 20, 1929 in Tallapoosa to the late Tillman and Lena Hodges McBurnett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughters, Kathy Pope, Phyllis Spearman, and Linda Martin; son and daughter in law, Robert and Elsie Lyle; and siblings, Esther Thomas, Harold McBurnett, and James McBurnett. Calvin served in the United States Army. He returned to work and later retire from Sewell Manufacturing as a sewing machine mechanic. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Willene White McBurnett; daughters and sons in law, Patricia and Keith Adams, of Bowdon, GA and Sarah and Jerry Swafford, of Tallapoosa; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held April 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Pesnell officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Brian Adams, Josh Bell, Donnie Gibson, Jake Gibson, Eddy Pope, and Robbie Rainey. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery with the Haralson County Veterans Association providing Military Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00PM.
