Duane passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family and trusted dog Gunter. Duane Lynn Schiwart was born on July 9, 1969 in Houston, Tx. He was the son of Melvin Schiwart and Janette (Koehler) Schiwart. He was baptized on July 27, 1969 at St. Mark's Lutheran church in Houston, Texas. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Klein, Texas on March 27, 1983. His confirmation verse was Psalm 27:1. Duane grew up in Houston and attended St. Matthews Lutheran school. He then moved to Spring in 1976 where he attended Trinity Lutheran school. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball and from Universal Technical Institute in Houston. After graduation Duane started working for Johnny Bangs in Tomball and worked there for over 30 years. On May 23,1992 Duane married Dana Greenwalt. They had three daughters and several pets throughout their marriage. Duane loved fishing, grilling, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed restoring his fathers old truck and spending time at the casino. Duane is preceded in death by his grandparents Ernest and Gertrude Schiwart, Herbert and Frieda Koehler and brother Christopher. He is survived by his wife, Dana Schiwart of Magnolia, his daughter Danielle Dekoch and husband Ethan of Montgomery, his daughter Michelle Karwoski and husband Theodore, his daughter Sarah Evans and husband Bryce, three grandchildren - Cooper DeKoch, Paisley DeKoch, and Emersyn Karwoski, his parents Melvin and Janette Schiwart of Tomball, his sister Delanie and husband Randy of Conroe. Frances Boscamp Lee Frances was born November 17, 1932 in Beeville, Texas. She was a resident of Sinton most of her life. Frances passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Frances graduated from Sinton High School and attended Trinity University in San Antonio and was later employed with Ft. Sam Houston from 1951 to 1953. After moving back to Sinton, Frances was employed with Plymouth Oil Company from 1953 to 1957. After raising her children, she was employed with Sinton ISD as payroll clerk from 1972 until her retirement in 1995 after 23 years of service. Frances was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Sinton. Frances' favorite things were spending time with her family & relatives at home or at their lake house and especially the get togethers' with her daughter, sisters & nieces . She is survived by her son, Rodney Lee of Sugar Land, Texas, daughter Karen Lee Loyd (Andy) of Houston, two grandchildren, JT (Ashley) Loyd of Round Rock and Morgan (Jesse) Kottke of Giddings and 8 great grandchildren, two sisters, Merlene Jacobs of San Antonio and Patsy (Billy) Cohea of Schulenburg and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Darrow S. Lee who passed away in 2016, her mother and father, Lizzie and Ruben Boscamp and brother Gerald Boscamp. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, 11:00 - 2:00 at the Back Street Restaurant, 106 E. Borden St. in Sinton, Texas with a Burial Service following at 2:30 in Sinton Cemetery. Pallbearers include nephews: Ronny Jacobs, Steve Boscamp, Chris Boscamp, Jay Cohea, great nephew Michael Paul Roecker and grandson JT Loyd. Honorary pallbearer: Hector Perez. A Catholic Funeral Mass for Maxine M. Merryman will be held at 10:00am on Friday, December 15th, 2023 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer Rd, with Father David J. Zapalac officiating. Maxine passed away peacefully in her assisted living residence on December 5th, 2023 at the age of 87. She was born in Bremond, Texas on September 28, 1936. She lived the majority of her life in Houston and in San Antonio. Her career was in the insurance industry for 40+ years. She was very business oriented and took pride in her management accomplishments. In her early retirement years, she thoroughly enjoyed working with the medical students at The University of Texas as a "standardized patient" helping to educate the medical students in patient protocol. She also worked at H&R Block for several tax seasons well into her 80's. Her primary focus in retirement was her charity work associated with her much loved Catholic Parish in Houston, St. Anne's. She looked forward to assisting in counting collections every Monday for 10+years and to seeing her many friends and priests at St. Anne's. She was also a member of St. Anne's Guild, a ministry of women to service the parish, serving God through commitment and uniting members through prayer, work and service. She is preceded in death by her mother, Willie Zabawa, by her brother, Mike Zabawa, by her son Mark Merryman and by her grandson Justin Merryman. She is survived by her three sons: Ron Merryman and wife Helen, Les Merryman and wife Erin, and William Merryman and husband David Newton. She is also survived by her daughter in law Geri Merryman. In addition, she is survived by her 7 grandchildren: Chad Merryman, Courtney Merryman, Hailey Merryman, Lauren Adolph, Kristen Williams, Tina Davis and Stefanie Mueller and by her 9 great grandchildren. And lastly but not least, by her beloved dog, Rocky, and her special friends Kent Heuter and Ginger Bowen. Maxine wanted to be remembered as being happy and as loving her family unconditionally. On December 2, 2023, Hazel Joy Page, 92 of Houston Texas while surrounded by her family was called home to be with Jesus. Hazel was born in Garwood, Texas on September 2,1931 in a little tin house down the road from her childhood home. Her parents, David Leslie, and Ola Belle Lanier had five boys, and then two girls: Foy, MG, Leo, Jack, Norman, Hazel, and Berta Rea. While attending Garwood High School, Hazel developed a love for volleyball and played on the school team. She graduated in1949 before attending Wharton County Junior College. After school she worked as a telephone switchboard operator, using electrical cords or switches to establish the phone call connections. She later worked at a hospital in Columbus, Texas in the medical records department. She left home at the age of twenty-nine when she moved to Houston to work at Tennessee Gas Pipeline. Hazel met her husband, Roy Page, at St. Paul's Methodist Church Coffee Club while playing volleyball. In just three short months, they were married on September 2, 1965, and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before Roy's passing in 2019. Hazel and Roy raised two daughters, Jennifer, and Leslie, in a loving Christian home. She enjoyed being a homemaker and helping her husband, Roy, run a successful part-time upholstery business for twenty-five years which allowed her to use her excellent sewing skills. She loved and served the Lord all her life and was a member of Sagemont Church since 1985. She enjoyed volunteering in various ministries of the church including being table host at Holiday Celebrations, making decorations and supporting events in Children's Ministry, and serving in Helping Hands ministry. Hazel was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandma, and friend. She was a constant encourager for family and friends and her quick wit and tenacious, competitive spirit will be missed. For Hazel, family was her pure joy in life. Her legacy is how well she loved and cared for her parents and family. Hazel is survived by her daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Shane Masters, daughter Leslie and son-in-law Rich Cockerham, granddaughter Sarah Miller, grandson Bailey and wife, Erica Miller, granddaughter Nicole and husband, Andrew Torres, granddaughter Abigial Cockerham, granddaughter Taylor and husband Cory Miles, grandson Ethan Cockerham, granddaughter Emily Cockerham, and great granddaughters, Yasmeen Scott, Jade Self and numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 8th followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm at Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, Texas 77089. RONALD TAYLOR BLACK (RON) age 65 passed away surrounded by family on December 2, at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Ron grew up in Abilene, Texas, attending schools and graduating from Cooper High School. He spent his career managing various businesses, restaurants, and grocery stores. His grilling skills were legendary, leading him to team competitions. He was always up for a good BBQ and get together. The world lost one of the good guys. Family, friends, and employees can attest to his positive attitude and kind, caring demeanor. Ron is survived by his four children: Kristen Sloan (Chris), Taylor Black (Casey), Preston Black and Miranda Black. Also surviving are his mother, Sue Black Sullivan (Jim), four siblings, Jim Black (Venita), Beverly Wright (Eric), Cindy Lewis (Bobby) and Debbie Borcik (Ed). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 nieces and 4 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Taylor Griffin Black, grandparents, Taylor Flo Black and Mildred Black and Milton Laine and Jimmie Lee Laine and a niece, Stacy Horton Sanchez. A celebration of life is planned for a later date.
