Manuel Emiliano Rocha Sr. , 75, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, at his home in Mesquite, Texas, after fighting a hard battle with brain cancer. He leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a lifetime of cherished memories. He was born on October 10, 1948, in Terceira, Azores, Altares, Portugal, to Manuel and Emily Rocha, where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep sense of family values. He served in the Portuguese Army. After his discharge, he made his way to America with his parents and siblings. On June 18th, 1982, in Visalia, California, Manuel married the love of his life, Maria Margarida Rocha. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. He was a devoted spouse, a loving father, and a doting grand and great-grandfather. Professionally, Manuel was a man of many traits and skills that varied from dairy farming, bull fighting, trucking, HVAC, poetry and play writing and much more. Manuel had a passion for bullfighting and writing his plays for the yearly festas on the island of Terceira, which is enjoyed around the world by all. Whether it was sitting for hours at his desk writing plays and poems to share or relaxing on the couch watching the latest bullfights from his home, he would point out all the familiar faces in the crowd. He found joy and fulfillment in these pursuits. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he shared these interests with friends and family alike. His humor was one not matched by anyone. Given the ability to connect with people within three seconds of meeting them was enlightening. His joy and compassion will be missed sorely every day. He is survived by his beloved Maria, his children, Manuel Rocha Jr. and daughter-in-law, Vickie Chase; Isabel and son-in-law, Matt Hall, Paula Rocha, and Michelle Rocha; grandchildren, Jamila and Kris Sanchez, Scott McWhorter, and Matthew Chase; and great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Archer McWhorter. Manuel is also survived by his siblings Jose Rocha, Paul Rocha, Maria Gamez, Emily Rocha, and Isabel Pimentel. His warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched. May Manuel rest in peace, and his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all. Larry was born on July 26, 1949, in Dallas, Texas and passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, after a long hard fight against cancer. Larry decided November 21 that he wanted to go home to be with the Lord, so he asked to go to his earthly home and wait until God came and took him to his heavenly home. He died peacefully in his room with his loving fiancee right by his side. He was fun loving and loved sports, especially the University of Texas Football team, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks. He was a patriot and loved his God, family and friends and his country. He was the life of every get-together. Our family get-togethers will never be the same. If you knew Larry, you had to love him. He was so loved and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Forman; mother, Lillie Forman; father, Clarence Forman; brothers, Alister McCoy Forman, Cecil Earl Forman and nephew, Charles Dee Knight Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved fiancee, Rebecca Lynn Tipton; daughter, Christy Lynne Gardner; granddaughters, Cristen Shanae Davidson, Kelsey Chere'e French; great-grandchildren, Bradley Gardner, Breana McClane, Brooklynne Davidson, Brayden Davidson, Noah Douglas Ortiz, and Zaylee Da'nae French; sisters, Shirley Knight and Shelia Climer; brother, Kenneth Ray Forman and many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. The funeral service will be at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home, 12649 Lake June Rd, Mesquite, Texas 75180 on December 1, 2023, at 2 p. m. with viewing starting at 1 p. m. before the service. Betty Jean Davis, 86, of Mesquite, TX went to her heavenly home on November 16, 2023. Betty is survived by her husband, Robert (Buddy) L. Davis, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lynn Noles, her daughters and sons-in law, Debbie and Dale Daily and Gina and Robert Cerrato, her grandchildren James and Nicole McCarter, Jordan McCarter, Nicole and Justin Sandone, Natalie and Kevin Redwine, Aaron and Jen Cerrato, Jason and Heather Cerrato and her great-grandchildren, Jace and Luke Redwine, Jameson McCarter, Abigale, Juniper, Ava and Elliot Cerrato. She is preceded in death by parents Willie Clyde and Ella Mae Noles and Hugh T. Little. Betty was born in Point, Texas on June 11, 1937 to Ella Mae and Clyde Noles. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1955 and soon after She married the love of her life, Robert L. Davis on July 8th 1955. She gave birth to their first daughter, Debbie, in 1957 followed by their second daughter, Gina in 1962. She and Buddy purchased the family business in 1973 making it what it's known as today Noles-Davis Antique Restoration. Betty worked, greeting customers, taking orders and keeping the company books until the day she fell ill in January 2023. Betty was a devoted wife, mother and business owner. She enjoyed shopping, cooking and hosting friends and family in her home. She and Buddy loved to travel. They took their daughters on yearly road trips and carried on that tradition travelling with their 4 grandchildren every summer throughout their childhood. She was a long-time member of Christian Center of Mesquite. She will be missed by her friends and family. The family will receive guests for visitation on Tuesday, November 21st from 5 p. m. -8 p. m. at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a. m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Christian Center of Mesquite in Mesquite, Texas, followed by internment at Laurel Oaks Cemetery.Show more
