Harper was in 8th grade at Newmark Middle School. He cherished his time with classmates and his dedicated nurses, therapists, and teachers who supported his development. Known for his impeccable style, Harper was often awarded "Best Dressed". Harper's signature mohawk and his incredible smile will forever be etched in our hearts. Despite the challenges he faced, Harper's spirit remained unbreakable, his joy infectious. He had a profound love for the outdoors and animals, sharing his life with four beloved dogs and a flock of 15 chickens. Camping trips and birthday celebrations at Great Wolf Lodge are cherished memories that his family will hold dear forever. Music was Harper's first true love. From spinning classic rock vinyl records of Queen, Aerosmith, and REO Speedwagon to secretly enjoying country music favorites like Koe Wetzel, Jordan Davis, and Jelly Roll with his dad and Nurse Hannah, Harper's musical taste was as vibrant and varied as his personality. Harper also shared a special bond with his mother, Candace, and sister, Emma, especially in their mutual love for Halloween. Harper and Mom always delighted in creating duo costumes, with some of their most memorable being Beetlejuice and Lydia, Squints and Wendy Peffercorn from The Sandlot, as well as Dr. Finkelstein and Sally from one of Harper's favorite movies, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Harper's life was a journey of countless therapy and doctor's visits, but these led to extraordinary experiences, from cab rides in Newark, New Jersey to visit specialists to adventures on the NYC subway, and were always met with his biggest grin. Harper even assisted his Mom in acquiring a fake designer handbag on Canal Street. Harper's impact on others was profound and far-reaching. In fifth grade, he positively influenced a peer named Aiden, demonstrating how compassion can triumph over challenges. Harper's empathy and love, expressed through his bright smiles, touched everyone around him. Harper was preceded in death by his grandmothers Connie and Jan, Aunt Mindy, and PopPop Jeff Moore. He is lovingly remembered by his father Tony, mother Candace, sister Emma, stepmother Laura, and mother's partner Lloyd. Harper's legacy is a beacon of love, joy, and resilience. His life, though brief, was a testament to the extraordinary power of an unjudging, loving heart. Harper Goldsby, a beautiful soul, will be deeply missed and forever cherished. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to AbilityKC and NORML KC. Ability KC provided therapy services to Harper for the entirety of his life. The therapists and their dedication to Harper were invaluable to his growth and communication. NORML KC played a crucial role in advocating for the legalization of medical marijuana in the state of Missouri.
