Bruce W. Lewis Sr. , 87, of Baldwinsvlle passed away on Friday at The Cottages at Garden Grove. Born in Dalton, PA, his family resided in Central New York before he married and settled in Baldwinsville. Bruce spent 38 years as a mechanic with the New York State DOT. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and spent many hours at the church, caretaking and volunteering. Bruce enjoyed bowling, the New York Yankees, old westerns, and volunteering with the Baldwinsville Christmas Bureau. He enjoyed playing games and cards and above all, he really just enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was kind and gentle and always ready to lend a helping hand. He was predeceased by his sister, Wanda (Bill) Jesgarzewski and brother, Lowell (Ann) Lewis. Bruce is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former, Carol A. Nentwick; son, Bruce (Stephanie) Lewis Jr. of Liverpool; sister, Lois Towner, of TN; brother, Gilbert(Mary) Lewis of Campbell; grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica Lewis; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Ryder Lewis; and many nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held, Friday September 15 at 11:00 a. m. in Grace Episcopal Church, 110 Oswego St. , Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners. Contributions may be made to the SPCA or Grace Episcopal Church. Rita Dawn Jacobs of Baldwinsville, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving husband Kenneth and their family on November 25, 2023. In her youth she sang in concerts with The Nightengales, became a nurse from Jamison Memorial Hospital. She meet Ken Jacobs, the love of her life, at the Dairybar in New Castle, PA and the two have been dancing ever since. Their song was "Could I have this dance," by Anne Murray as they slowed danced and jitterbugged through life. She always took care of everyone she met starting as a stay at home mom for her four children, working for years at C. W. Baker High school, and finishing her career as Executive secretary at K J Electric. Throughout her life she became "mom" to everyone she met and welcomed all into her home. She was a caring person that always saw the good in people. Her hobbies were baking, gardening and following their racehorses with her husband. She had a very special bond with her family, especially the grandkids, texting "grandma jokes", pictures and videos. It made her day and she made ours. Rita is predeceased by her parents, Burt R. and Meda (Robinson) McDeavitt; son, Bobby Jacobs; son-in-law, Raymond Honsinger III; and her siblings, Bud, Ricky, Lois, and Bonnie. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth E. Jacobs; daughters, Lorraine (Jeffrey) Lawrence, Carol Honsinger; son, Kenneth (Annmarie) Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Theresa Jacobs; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St. , Baldwinsville on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 3-5 PM. Michelle Harter Nicholls, 53, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Friday, due to complications from lung cancer. She was surrounded by family when she passed away. She was a straightforward, hardworking woman who loved her family, her friends, her nursing career and her pets. Professionally, Michelle was a nurse who took her job seriously. She was known for her skilled hands and a no-nonsense attitude that put her patients at ease. Michelle was respected by her colleagues and appreciated by her patients for her compassionate, competent care. When not in her nursing scrubs, Michelle enjoyed playing board games, crafting, Netflix, shopping on Temu, camping at the lake, and just hanging out with her family and close friends. These simple pleasures were the essence of Michelle's life. Her passing is a significant loss to her family, friends, and the local community. Michelle is survived by her husband Bryan Nicholls; son Alex (Lauren Stemetzki) VanMarter; mother Sue Fabello; brother Don Harter; sister Susan (Harter) Warner; nephew Kevin Vanhooser, niece Kristina (Harter) Wise, nephew Jacob Anderson and niece Zoey Warner. Michelle was the backbone of her family, a loving wife to Bryan and a supportive mom to her son Alex. She also had a soft spot for her two big dogs and 2 kitties, who will miss her dearly. She lived a good, honest life and will be remembered fondly by those who knew her. She touched all that crossed her path with smiles and love. Allen J. Emm, Sr. , 84, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away on Friday at the Syracuse VA Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Syracuse, NY the son of the late Arthur J. and Elsie Emm. Al grew up in Baldwinsville, NY and attended C. W. Baker High School, Class of 1958. He was a talented athlete in many sports, especially baseball. In 2016, along with his son Art, were inducted together into the Baldwinsville Baseball Hall of Fame. After graduating, he enlisted in the US Air Force proudly serving his country. On November 26, 1966 he was united in marriage to the former Shirley E. Pratt, a blessed union of 57 years. Al enjoyed a life-long career as a Truck Driver working for many local companies, traveling in the Northeast. His hard work ethic earned him respect not only at work but at home. He was the "Rock" of the Emm family, always helping anyone is need and could fix anything. Al had a great sense of humor and was always supporting his children throughout sports and life. He was a member of the Teamsters Local # 317 and the Seneca River Fire Department. Al is predeceased by his three sisters; Catherine Rummerfield, Noma Schlacter and Sharon Wentworth. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley E. Emm, his children; Jeff Kent, Darlene (Duane Bort) Emm, Art (Nia) Emm, AJ (Colleen) Emm, Jr. and Daryl Emm, his sister, Gladys Abbott, seven grandchildren affectionately known as; Jabber, Bambi, Mik, Spike, Whip, Ace and Sassy, eight great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
