Bruce Cuquet, 67, of Gretna, Louisiana passed away on September 7th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Bruce was born on December 14th, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Majorie Harris Cuquet and Dennis Cuquet. He married Robin Clavier Cuquet on November 30th, 1989. He was employed at Safelite Glass for 41 years until he retired on April 21st, 2022. Bruce loved hot rods and racing. He was an avid fisherman and was also a former member of Casting Cajuns Bass Club. Bruce spent most of his spare time on the waters of Delacroix Island. Bruce is survived by his wife Robin Clavier Cuquet, His children Justin Cuquet (Bridgette), Devin Cuquet (Braya), Alyssa Cuquet (Chirs/Junior). His brothers Stanley Cuquet, David Cuquet and Dennis "Boutsy" Cuquet. Bruce was also a very proud PaPa to Ava Cuquet, Axell Cuquet, Adley Cuquet and Chandler Burgess. The family of Bruce wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Shibu Varughese, Mr. Lee and the entire staff at Bethesda Medical. Funeral services have been arranged by Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September the 12th, 2023 at 10:00 am, and a celebration of life and mass will follow afterwards at 12:00 pm.

She was a native of Marrero, LA and a resident of Slidell, LA. Jacquencia was a graduate of John Ehret High School and Dillard University, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at Greenbriar Community Care Center. Devoted mother of Ja’Mya G. Wallace, Kash C. and Jarrius "Jarvis" Wallace, her younger brother who she loved as a son, and was instrumental in rearing. Beloved daughter of Leroy Lewis and Harriett Wallace (Ralph) Morris. Granddaughter of the late Bernice Wallace (John) Booker, Sam Harris, L. V. and Mary Lewis. Great granddaughter of Jerry and Gussie Wallace. Loving sister of Leroy (Raquline) Wallace, Brandon (April) Wallace, Queneshia Wallace, and Javonna Wallace. Neice of the late Hattie Lite, and Emmett Wallace. Sylvester Bates entered peacefully into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the age of 72. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Sylvester was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Marrero, LA Class of 1969. He received a football scholarship to attend Grambling State University, where he played defensive tackle, and graduated in 1974 with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation. Sylvester was employed for a short time with the Jefferson Parish Public School System as a teacher. He later changed careers and became a panel board operator with Cornerstone (Cytec), from which he retired after 34 years of dedicated service. Sylvester was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Co-Chairman of the Deacon Board. Deacon Bates will be remembered for his love of family, cooking, baking, traveling, electronics, and his passion for football. Devoted husband of Faye Mickey Bates, who also served as his caregiver. Stepfather of Joe Webber, Jr. , Brandon (Alishia) Webber, and Janae Webber. Son of the late Robert Bates, Jr. and Eliza Mae Jackson Bates. Nathaniel "Big Nate" Collins, Sr. entered into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the age of 66. He was a native of Centerville, MS and a resident of New Orleans, LA. As a lifelong sports enthusiast, Nathaniel enjoyed watching and participating in football, track, and baseball. He was a 1975 graduate of Central High School in Liberty, MS, and continued his studies at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA on a football scholarship. In 1979, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education. Nathaniel was employed for many years offshore before he began working for the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, from which he retired after 31 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and attending family reunions. Beloved husband of 41 years to the late Sandra Elaine Hughes Collins. Loving father of Kenneth Collins and the late Nathaniel Collins, Jr. Son of the late Henry Collins, Jr. and Rutha Mae Johnson Collins.
