Brenda Sims Obituary

Brenda J. Sims, 73, of Chesapeake, VA - beloved wife, mother and most importantly "Gramz" went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2023 while bravely battling cancer. She is survived by an ever growing and loving family; her husband, Charles W. Sims, daughter, Lisa Hampton, son-in-law Todd Grey, and granddaughter Ella. She is remembered by her loving brother Randy and Connie Page. Additionally, daughter Lynn Sims Rogers, son-in-law Jerry, son Timothy Sims and daughter-in-law Sarah. Brenda was also blessed with the love of grandchildren; Josh Cassidy, Jessica Waters and her husband Jaron, Anabelle and her wife Denise, Adelaide Sims, Steven Sims, Malakie Sims, and the most recent additions, great grandchildren Carson and Tanner Waters. She also leaves behind an extended family, that she adored, including several nieces and nephews; David and Holly Gentry, Ryan and Danielle Gentry, Lovie and Jason Heilig. Her great nieces and nephews David and his wife Vangie, Valton, Shelby, Noah, Isabella, Kai, Mason and Hazel. . Brenda was an inspirational and enthusiastic Spanish teacher and guidance counselor for the Chesapeake school system. She is also remembered and loved by her extended family of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church, and was honored and proud to be a member. Brenda loved to travel and experience new cultures, spend time with her family and friends. She was involved in several organizations throughout the years and loved being part of her community. She was a truly vibrant loving soul who will be missed by many. Services will be held at Great Bridge Presbyterian Church on Thursday, April 27th at 2:00 p. m.
