Lenda Sue (Hudson) Pruett, 80, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community in Franklin, IN. Born on December 8, 1943, in Success, Arkansas, Lenda was a twin to Glenda Burcham and one of eight children belonging to Clyde Hudson and Wilma Bernice (Green) Hudson. Lenda later married James Lee Pruett of Paragould, Arkansas, in October 1962. The pair had their first son, James Lee Pruett Jr., soon after, and their second son, John Blake Pruett, in 1968. Known as a fiercely independent woman, Lenda was a well-liked small business owner in southeast Missouri until her retirement in the mid-2000s. She was an antiques enthusiast, a collector of clocks, and a beloved grandmother to her four granddaughters.Survivors include her son James Lee “Jim” Pruett Jr. and his wife Teresa of Helotes, Texas, four granddaughters Ashley Chapa, Kelsey Pruett-Elrod, Darby Phiilips, and Aribi Pruett, great grandchildren Zoe Lance, Roland Chapa, Adelyn Phillips, Rosalee Phillips, a sister Rosetta Hoskins of Paragould, Arkansas, and brother Jimmy Dale Hudson of Fort Worth, Texas.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James Lee Pruett, and her son John Blake Pruett on June 19, 2023.A private graveside service with family and friends will take place at Greene County Memorial Gardens 2901 AR-135N Paragould, Arkansas 72450.Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN is handling arrangements.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com. Barbara Ann (Clayburn) Cave, 76, of Trafalgar, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 in Franklin, Indiana.Barbara was born March 27, 1947 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Tommy Henry Clayburn and Ella “Maybelle” Pedigo Willard.Barbara married her husband, John David “Buddy” Cave, on March 27, 1964.Barbara was a woman who was always caring for others. First as a big sister to her 5 siblings, a wife to Buddy, and later to her 4 kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.Barbara was devoted to serving Christ. She and her husband were active members of Peoga Methodist Church and were part of the group that organized the Peoga parade. Along with teaching Sunday school and summer Vacation Bible School she was active in the Ladies Aid Quilting Circle. She and her family spent a lot of non-Sundays with other members of the church, a passel of nieces/nephews, and great nieces/nephews and the Peoga community around a campfire and getting the kids to take turns churning homemade ice cream.She chose professions that utilized her caring heart, being employed by Johnson County Hospital and the Masonic Home. She retired from Nova Home Health.Barbara was an avid crafter and enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, and painting. You would want to think twice about challenging her to a rummy card game and she rarely lost at Trivia Pursuit. She loved all kinds of flowers and gardening. She enjoyed traveling to participate in English Budgie bird shows with her husband usually so she could hope for a bargain in the raffle table.She served alongside her husband as they pastored for 20+ years at Pleasant Valley Church in Brown County.She and her husband attempted to be retired Florida snowbirds but soon found themselves active again with Faith Missionary Church and expanded on the food pantry/distribution in the Avon Park community. But they missed their family and moved back full time to Peoga.Barbara should be remembered among other things as loving a great bargain at Goodwill, singing along to 50’s music, and listening to Buddy play the piano and sing.Barbara is survived by her children, Gina (Doug) Betts of Trafalgar, IN, Leah (Richard) Morgan of Valley Head, AL, Philip (Sherri) Cave of Trafalgar, IN, and John (Laura) Cave of Morgantown, IN; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Lorene (Jerry) Cleefman and Myles (Linda) Clayburn.Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John David “Buddy” Cave; father, Tommy Henry Clayburn; mother, Ella “Maybelle” Pedigo Willard; siblings, Joe Walter Clayburn, Tony Ray Clayburn, and Dana Marie McDonald.A visitation will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home & Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27th at 1:00pm at the funeral home with visitation from 11:00am until the funeral hour. Wanda Lee (West) Pendleton, 92, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024.Wanda was born February 13, 1932 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Avery and Olma (Dunbar) West.Wanda attended Southport High School in Indiana and met the love of her life, Carl Pendleton, in her early teen years. They wed in Campbellsville, Kentucky on Halloween of 1949 and soon had their first son, Larry. They lived together in Colorado Springs briefly before moving to Campbellsville and later relocating to Whiteland, Indiana, where their three children were raised and attended high school. Wanda worked at Pizza Inn in Greenwood, Berg Electronics in Franklin, and lastly at Whiteland Elementary School.Wanda was a spiritual person who believed in God. She enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved to go fishing. You could often find Wanda reading, playing cards, working on crossword puzzles, or cooking her favorite recipes. She loved listening to Elvis and George Strait and she and Carl were huge Purdue fans. They had a passion for travelling and spent every winter in Creston, Iowa for Carl to hunt and enjoy the snow. Above all else, Wanda treasured spending time and making memories with her family.Wanda is survived by her son, Jeff Pendleton (Larissa) of MO; daughter-in-law, Carla Pendleton of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Jeremy Pendleton (April) of Greenwood, IN, Jason Pendleton (Wendy) of Indianapolis, Lindsey Ward of Greenwood, Jacob Pendleton (Shannon) of MO, and Jessica Pendleton (Dakota) of MO; great-grandchildren, Mason and Samantha Pendleton of Greenwood, Corbin and Logan Petree of Indianapolis, and Eli Pendleton of Indianapolis; sister, Faye Santangelo of FL; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, many adopted grandchildren, and her friend, Janet Hausz.Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Pendleton; son, Larry Pendleton; daughter, Teresa Pendleton Ward; son-in-law, William “Curtis” Ward; parents, Avery and Olma West; brothers, Arles “Art” West, Linvil “Jim” West, Finas West, Kenneth “Kenny” West, and Robert “Bobby” West.A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00am in the chapel of Otterbein Franklin SeniorLife Community, located at 1070 W. Jefferson Street, Franklin, IN 46131, with visitation from 10:00am until the funeral hour.
