Brenda E. (Martin) Duval, born on August 15, 1942, in Winchendon, Massachusetts, died October 6, 2023 at her home after an illness. Brenda graduated from Murdock High School in 1960 and then stepped into the workforce, holding positions at New England Telephone, CO. , Vello Ots Mobile Lunch, and small local furniture manufacturing businesses doing decorative painting. She was resilient and determined, always working with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. In addition to being a loving caretaker and homemaker, she was a passionate hobbyist who found solace in the art of painting, the tranquility of gardening, and the joy of cooking. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and St. Vincent de Paul Church, where she found spiritual comfort and a community that adored her. Brenda was a woman of strong faith, reading her bible daily and participated in many Bible study groups over the decades. Brenda is survived by her daughter, Renee Duval, son Martin Duval, and granddaughter Elizabeth Duval all of Winchendon. She also leaves her sister Beverly Johnson of Florida. Sister in laws Marie Gouslin and Annette Grenier, brother in law Edward Roy, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Duval, her parents, Marshall and Regina Martin, and her brothers, Marshall and Frank Martin. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 13, 2023 at 9:30am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 18 Pleasant St. , Baldwinville, MA 01436. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Washer, who left us on December 6, 2023. Born in Gardner, MA, on February 14, 1969, Robert was a man of many talents. He was a roofer by profession, but his true passion was the open road and the ocean. The rolling waves and the roar of a motorcycle were his joy, his solace. He was an excellent poker player, a testament to his skill in the art of strategy. His iPad was never far from reach, as he loved the thrill of digital games. Robert never married, but he was never alone. His family was the cornerstone of his life. His sister held a special place in his heart and he was the beloved son of Kathryn and Richard Lord. He was a cherished brother to Richard (Donna Durant) Washer and Jamie LeBlanc. He also leaves behind his aunts and uncles, Thomas (Marty) Padula; Deborah (Elaine Murphy) Padula, and Pam (Steven) Wiley; his nieces, Cassady (Alec) Wong, Mackenzie Leblanc, Arayah Washer, Kimberly Padula, and Abigail Davis; his nephews, Rickey Jr. , Danny Padula and David Padula; his great-nephew, Sawyer Wong and one cousin, Jay (Terri) Ablaza . Lisa Beauvais, born in Winchendon, MA, on June 12, 1963, was a beacon of perseverance, creativity, and human spirit. She was never defined by the boundaries of her circumstances but rather by her indomitable spirit and the love she shared with those around her. As a volunteer at Beal's Memorial Library, Lisa was a vibrant addition to the community she so cherished. Her affinity for adult coloring books was a testament to the meticulous care she took in all her endeavors, her artistry a reflection of her colorful spirit. She was recognized by the Town of Winchendon's Board of Selectmen on June 28, 2014 as Lisa Beauvais Day for all of her accomplishments. As the renowned author, Maya Angelou once said, "You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have. " Lisa's life was a testament to this philosophy, her creative spirit always in abounding supply. Lisa was a proud graduate of Gardner High School's CAPS Collaborative Program in 1984 and an attendee of Cardinal Cushing School in Hanover. Her achievements were not limited to academics, Lisa was a bronze medalist in swimming at the Special Olympics held at the University of Michigan, a tribute to her tenacity and unyielding spirit. Her family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. John Harrington, the Staff of Care Central Hospice in Gardner, and all of Lisa's caregivers at the Baldwinville House, for their kindness, compassion, and dedication. It is they who ensured that the final years of Lisa's life were filled with the same love and care she had always offered to those around her. She is survived by her loving mother, Theresa Beauvais; her siblings, Joyce M. Beauvais, James C. (Phyllis) Beauvais, Linda B. (James) Fenlason, Joanne' B. Sharon M. (McHardy) Derochers, born on August 5, 1942, in Quincy, MA, was known as one of the sweetest and strong-willed women one could ever meet. Her integrity, kindness, faith, strength, compassion, and unconditional love touched many lives in her 81 years. Sharon was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed celebrating her faith at Saint Joseph’s Parish near her home in Braintree, MA where she lived for over 55 years with the love of her life. Sharon is survived by her loving family; her beloved husband who held her hand and her heart for over 62 years, Paul Derochers; daughters, Laurie (Frank) Kaminsky and Lynne (Michael) Bucci; son, Scott (Angela) Derochers; eleven grandchildren, Lauren Kaminsky, Jonathan Kaminsky, Ryan Kaminsky, Michael Bucci, Stephanie Bucci, Brianna Bucci, Caitlyn Bucci, Derek Picard, Nichole Derochers, Olivia Derochers, and Emily Derochers; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Amaya Picard; her brother Ralph (Mary) McHardy; brother-in-law, Dick (Martha) Cronin; several nieces and nephews, and so very many friends/family who feel blessed to have known her. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Abigail McHardy, her brother James (Renee) McHardy, and her best friend since age 5, Geraldine "Geri" (Campbell) Bono. After Geri’s passing, Sharon adopted the role of "Auntie" and "Nannie" for her best friends children Jennifer, Lisa, Jeremy, and Johnny, and grandchildren, Mason, Libby, Will, and Ryan. Sharon loved to visit Bar Harbor, ME, and her Brother Jim’s house on the lake in NH. Sharon was a diehard New England sports fan, with a special love for the Bruins. There is no doubt that the epicenter of Sharon’s world was her grandchildren. She loved being "Nannie", spending time with them celebrating, dancing, and playing. She will be sincerely missed. Frederick A. Cloutier, born in Gardner, Massachusetts on March 2, 1945, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on November 29, 2023. Frederick, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was a man of strong principles who dedicated his life to the service of his community. He was a resident of Winchendon, Massachusetts, and retired from the town's Law Enforcement, where he held numerous positions including Police Chief, DARE Officer, Safety Officer, Civil Defence Director, and Town Constable. Frederick is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy D. (Emond) Cloutier, their children Kimberly D. (Bruce) Coffin and Richard J. (Wanda) Cloutier; his cherished grandchildren Lazlo W. Cloutier and Avery G. Coffin (Sunshine); his sister Dorothy A. Boutelle, and many many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph E. Sr. and Lillian (Tatro) Cloutier, and siblings Virginia I. Hardy, Angelina V. Galup, Lillian E. Bateman, Mari-Jane Cloutier, and Joseph E. Jr. Frederick retired in 2005 and spent his golden years as a true putterer, enjoying woodworking and working in his yard on his John Deere Tractor. These moments, shared with his family, particularly his grandchildren, were some of his most cherished. He had a special love for Walt Disney World, a magical place that brought him endless joy when visited with his grandchildren. Frederick was also a member of the American Legion and the DAV. His dedication, hard work, and the immense love he held for his family will forever be remembered. Leroy Malcolm Campbell, 98, died peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He lived his life to the fullest, with a spirited commitment to his country and a devoted love for his family. Leroy was born on December 18, 1924 in Fitzwilliam, NH, the son of Artiemus and Agnes (Bailey) Campbell. The family soon moved to Winchendon, where he would make his home until moving to Gardner in 2014. Heeding the call to serve his country in World War II, Leroy enlisted in the United States Navy at 17. He joined the war effort aboard the USS Kilauea AE-4 (later renamed the USS Mount Baker AE-4), replenishing man-of-war ships with ammunition during two tours of Europe. After victory in Europe, he sailed to the South Pacific via the Panama Canal, where he would again rearm ships for battle in the critical final months of the Pacific campaign. After being honorably discharged, Leroy returned to Winchendon, where he met his beloved wife, Mary Chard. They were married on her birthday, January 6, 1951, and shared their life and love for 43 years until her death in 1994. Leroy's dedication to his country led him to reenlist in May 1953, and he would continue to serve for another 20 years. He served on the USS LST-1162 (later renamed the USS Wahkiakum County LST-1162), the USS Chevalier DD-805, saw on-shore at the U. S. Naval Submarine Base, Groton, CT, and most memorably aboard the USS Forrestal CVA-59. He concluded his service at the U. S. Naval Station in Washington, D. C. , as the dispatcher to the Chief of Naval Personnel with the rank of Chief Boatswain's Mate. After a distinguished naval career, he retired on December 1, 1973. His valor and committed service earned him numerous medals, including the World War II Victory Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the American Area Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and five Good Conduct Medals honoring each of his five reenlistments. He was also a Shellback, having sailed across the equator twice. After retiring from the Navy, Leroy returned home to Winchendon and his beloved wife, Mary. Together, they built a loving home and nurtured two daughters, Lois and Lori. He joined the U. S. Postal Service in 1969, retiring in 1989. After Mary's death in 1994, Leroy was blessed to find love again and married Janet LaPointe on July 28, 2000, gaining an extended family he deeply cherished. Leroy and Janet enjoyed 23 faithful years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and watching sports together. Leroy was an avid golfer and played prestigious courses across the United States. He took great pride in sharing his love of golf with his grandchildren. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Leroy was a communicant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and a member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193, American Legion, and VFW Post 2158. He was a devoted family man who treasured every moment with his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mary (Chard) Campbell, sister Marie Hardy-Hoffman, half-brother Gordon Armstrong, stepson Scott A. LaPointe, and step-granddaughters Stacey LaPointe and Jennifer LaPointe. Leroy leaves his wife, Janet, of Gardner; two daughters, Lois Guy of Athol and Lori Kuzina and her husband Christopher of Winchendon; former son-in-law Anthony LaPointe of Winchendon; grandchildren Corey LaPointe of Los Angeles, CA, Ashley LaPointe of Winchendon, Eric LaPointe of Chelsea, Ross LaPointe and his wife Hannah of Leominster; great-grandchildren Tyler Andrade, Owen LaPointe, Collin Andrade, and Theodore LaPointe; niece Cathy Tenney and her husband Bob of Long Beach, WA, niece Maureen Turgeon and her husband Daniel of Spotsylvania, VA, nephew Richard Chard and his wife Gabby of San Luis Obispo, CA, and nephew Daniel Brow and his wife Laura of Roxbury, NH. From his marriage to Janet, he leaves behind two stepsons, Linwood LaPointe, Jr. and his partner Rosa Braga of Winchendon and Robert LaPointe of Phillipston; stepdaughter Kim LaPointe, daughter-in-law Deanna LaPointe; step-grandsons Nicholas LaPointe, Jeremy LaPointe and his wife Shauna, Keith LaPointe and his wife Caitlin; and step-great-grandchildren Alexander LaPointe, Emilia LaPointe, Adelyn LaPointe, Norah LaPointe, Kaden LaPointe, Harmony LaPointe, Addison LaPointe, Jack LaPointe and Ryleigh Lafrennie. He lived every day serving his country, community, and family with joy and purpose. She and her family lived in Willington CT for over 20 years before moving to Winchendon, Massachusetts to their family home on Lake Monomonac. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend to many. Susan, more than anything, was a compassionate, dedicated, and loving mother to her three daughters. She found her greatest joy in being with them, and she instilled in them her values of love and kindness. Susan was also a courageous woman, bravely facing life's challenges with grace and resilience. She was a long time tax preparer where her dedication and work ethic were highly admired by her clients. Susan was deeply rooted in her faith, often expressing it through Bible study, devotional time, and Christian music. The Lord's Prayer held a special significance for her, reminding her of the comforting presence of God in her life. She also enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, spending time on Lake Monomonac, and exploring the beauty of New England with her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, John Davies, whom she married on October 14, 1989, and their wonderful daughters, Nicole, Lauren, and Mikaela. John E. Whipple, known affectionately to many as "Cheffy", passed away on November 20, 2023, just shy of his 84th birthday. Born in Winchendon, MA on February 21, 1940, John resided in Templeton, Massachusetts and was a reliable and supportive pillar of the community. A retired machinist from the manufacturing sector, he was a generous soul who found joy in hunting, playing pitch, and gardening. John was a dedicated member of the Otter River Sportsman Club, Baldwinville Legion, and the Senior Center. Above all, he was a loving family man and friend, cherishing the company of his loved ones and expressing profound gratitude for the wonderful people in his community. John is survived by his daughters, Michelle Whipple-Duclos, and Kathleen Marean; his step-daughters, Nancy Flinkstrom and Karen Carlson; his step-son, Steven Holmes; and their respective partners. Born in Canso, NS, Canada on February 22, 1952, Randolph was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He was a dedicated HVAC technician for Heywood Hospital for 28 years, before his retirement he had previously worked for Digital for 20 years, a testament to his commitment and work ethic. Despite residing in Leominster, Massachusetts, Randolph had also lived in Royalston for several years and Gardner for 20 years. Randolph was a man of varied interests; an avid musician who was active in the local music community, he also held a pilot's license. His love for the skies extended to his pastime of flying RC airplanes. A keen fisherman, he found joy and tranquility in nature. As the famous saying goes, "Flying may not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price. " – Amelia Earhart. This perfectly encapsulates Randolph's zest for life and adventure. Francis E. Plante, a man of unwavering faith, adventurous spirit, and boundless love, was born on January 24, 1935, in Winchendon, Massachusetts, to the late George and Josephine Plante. His journey of 88 radiant years was marked by his infectious humor, humble heart, and a zest for life that left an indelible imprint on those fortunate to know him. Francis, a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, departed from this world on November 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. To then be welcomed into heaven by his adored wife Sheila Plante, of whom has been awaiting him for 52 years. Francis spent many years working in the furniture manufacturing industry at various mills including White Brothers, Carrier Furniture and Temple Stewart Furniture. His humble beginnings in Winchendon, never left him, and he carried his respect for hard work and determination throughout his life. He was a man who found solace in the beauty of nature, often taking long adventurous bike rides and hiking Mount Monadnock. His love for dancing was unparalleled, often becoming the life of every gathering with his infectious energy and humor. Francis was a devout Catholic having attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for many years. Faith was an anchor in his life. He lived by the words of 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love," and he truly embodied this verse. Francis was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. WINCHENDON - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Theron A. "Buddy" Flint Jr. on November 9, 2023. He was born in Winchendon on June 3, 1941, son of the late Theron and Margaret (O’Connor) Flint and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Theron was known as Buddy or Budman to all his family and friends. As a child, Buddy grew up in the Spring Village part of town where he made numerous life-long friends. Buddy was a 1959 graduate of Murdock High School and went on to serve his country as a Lance Corporal in the US Marine Corps. Following his military service, he returned to Winchendon, married his high school sweetheart, Katherine "Rookie" (Diamantopoulous) Flint and started a family. Buddy took great pride in his hometown of Winchendon, his Irish heritage, and being a graduate of Murdock High School. He was extremely proud to be a Marine and enjoyed sharing stories of his time spent abroad while in the military. Buddy spent his career in the chemical manufacturing industry, working for Borden Chemical in Leominster and Chem Design Corporation in Fitchburg. At work he was known for his sense of humor and his "get the work done" attitude. One of Buddy’s favorite hobbies was golf. Weekends during the spring and summer he could be found hitting the links at the old Winchendon School golf course. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles. He was a creature of habit and no matter what was going on, he faithfully read the newspaper every morning and completed the crossword puzzle. An avid Boston sports fan, he looked forward to following the New England Patriots every fall. Buddy was known for his sense of humor and larger than life personality. He enjoyed playing practical jokes and making everyone laugh. Even if it was at his own expense! He enjoyed having a good time and it was always centered around family and friends. Whether it was going out for breakfast with friends, having home cooked dinners with his daughters during the week, his Friday afternoon stops at the American Legion Post 193 for a drink or two, or his infamous 4th of July parties and legendary Budman Open golf tournaments, he was always happiest when surrounded by the people he loved. What brought Buddy the greatest joy was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Having been an only child, family was very important to him. If you wanted to see him beam with pride all you needed to do was ask him about his family. He was so proud of his children and loved being a "Papa" to his granddaughters and great grandchildren. Buddy is survived by his three children, Deborah Flint of Winchendon, Sean Flint of Fort Myers, FL and Tracey Barrows and her husband Keith of Winchendon; He also leaves five granddaughters with whom he had an especially close relationship with; Ashly Switzer, Caitlin Epner, Lindsey Braga, Jaqueline Flint, and Taylor Barrows; as well as eight great-children; Nathan, Lila, Lily, Roman, Kennedy, Georgia, Henry, and Lola. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Katherine "Rookie" (Diamantopoulous) Flint. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 10 A. M. in the Stone Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 5 -7 p. m.
