        Mrs. “Billie” Yvonne Blackwell (92) was peacefully ushered into the arms of Jesus on February 18, 2024. A memorial and graveside service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 1:00 P.M at Meredith Nowell Funeral Home, 314 E 2nd St, Clarksdale, MS 38614, with Rev. Charles Langford officiating. Born to the late Earl and Trillie Anne Hill of Clarksdale, Mississippi. Mom graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1951. Billie was the widow of Mr. Vernon Blackwell, a veteran of the US Army. A longtime Memphis resident and member of Boulevard Baptist Church. Billie lived the past 50 years in Tennessee raising a family of five children. Her legacy will live through her family and others she inspired! The family is grateful to the staff of Ave Maria home, and to Billie’s dedicated personal caregivers. Billie is survived by her five children: Steve (Debbie) Blackwell, Connie (Ray) Dismukes, David (Ruby) Blackwell, Lisa Murphy (Mark Kibler) and Kenny Blackwell. Additionally, one stepdaughter, Donna (Jim) Rose and 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Debra Ann Boone, born November 23, 1957, passed away on February 16, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was 66 years old. Debra was born to parents Billy R. and Elizabeth Ann Hamrick Frazier in West Memphis, Arkansas. Debra attended Marion High School and went on to continue her education at Mid-South Community College. She graduated as valedictorian of the LPN program. She worked as an LPN at several nursing homes, as well as working as a dispatcher for a truck line, and Economy Boat. She also worked as a manager at Sunny Meadows Safe Haven for Pets. Debra loved to read, spend time with her grandchildren and family, and to go shopping. Debra was proceeded in death by her father, Billy R. Frazier, her grandparents, and brother-in-law, Kenneth. Surviving Debra is her husband of 37 years, Larry Boone; sons, Jason Frazier and Taylor Boone (Katy); daughter, Amber Marino; grandchildren, Haley Marino, Christopher Marino, and Emmett Boone; mother, Elizabeth; sister, Theresa C. Frazier; and Gene Darby (Teresa Norris-Darby), Linda Kidd (Jeff), Donny Boone, Vaniece Boone, Mackenzie Neumann, Renee Parks, and Corley Boone (Jennifer). Services for Mrs. Boone will be held at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, West Memphis, Arkansas, on February 21, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1PM with the funeral service following at 2PM. The burial will take place at Crittenden Memorial Park, Marion, Arkansas.

"Mattie L Cheers-Booker was born on March 16, 1938 to the late Tommy Lee and Willie Mae Gholston-Cheers in LaGrange, Tennessee. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mt. Pisgah M. B. Church and after many years, joined the Middle Baptist Church. Mattie was a dedicated member of the Mother’s Board, Sunday School Class #20 as well an active Prayer Warrior, she prayed for numerous individuals across the country and despite her failing health, she continued to pray for others. If you crossed her path, you were always greeted with a smile. Mattie departed this life early Wednesday morning, February 14, 2024. Some of Mattie’s passions were baking cakes, frying pies, canning preservatives and cooking for others that was in need. In addition, Mattie was active in community service by providing clothing and food to the Men’s Mission center and Children’s organizations. Mattie was preceded in death by her two sons, Richard Booker, Jr. and Robert Booker, Sr.; two sisters, Dorothy Henderson, Ada Lorraine Oliver; two brothers, Leroy Cheers, Sr. \u0026amp; Tommy Cheers, Jr. She also leaves to cherish the memory of her life two daughters, Elizabeth Booker – Bryson (George) and Rose Booker, two sons, Melvin Booker, and David Booker. She also leaves six siblings, Charlesetta Whiting, Maggie Cheers, Bernice Nicholson, James Cheers, Eugene (Ethel) Cheers, and Raymond (Vera) Cheers; daughter-in-law, Sherry Woodall. Seven Grandchildren’s; Brian (Jennifer) Booker, Tierney Dougherty, Tiera Booker-Snelling, Xavier Booker, Jeremy Booker, Robert Booker, Jr., LeSheri Booker, eight great-grandchildren and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family."
