Milwaukee. Born on November 15, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Passed to Eternal Life Monday, November 27, 2023. Age 81 years. Loving brother of Sharon (Barry) Babler and Michael Schaefer. Dear uncle of Barry Paul (Jane) Babler, Michelle Panos, Rebecca (Dr. David) Poetker and Erika (Jason) Zeronis. Great uncle of George (Jacqueline) Panos, Alex Panos, Olivia Panos, Reagan Babler, Claire Babler, Brett Babler, Anne Babler, Barrett Poetker (fiance Ryan Dec), Aidan Poetker, Jude Poetker, Grace Zeronis, and Sam Zeronis. Also survived by other relatives and many friends. Father began his priestly formation at St. Francis Minor Seminary in St. Francis from 1956-1961; De Sales Preparatory from 1961-1964 and Saint Francis Seminary in St. Francis from 1964-1970. Father was ordained to the priesthood on May 23, 1970, by Most Reverend William E. Cousins at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee. Father Aiken was first assigned to St. Margaret Mary Parish in Milwaukee on June 16, 1970, as Associate Pastor. On June 17, 1975, he was assigned as Team Member at Holy Angels Parish in Milwaukee. Father was appointed Pastor at St. Nicholas Parish in Milwaukee on June 14, 1983. On June 10, 1987, he was assigned Shared Pastor at Holy Redeemer and St. Nicholas Parishes in Milwaukee. On June 25, 1991, Father was appointed Team Administrator at St. Alphonsus Parish in Greendale. On June 15, 1999, Father was appointed Pastor at St. Alphonsus Parish in Greendale. He was assigned to St. Sebastian Parish in Milwaukee on June 21, 2005, as Pastor. He retired from active ministry on June 27, 2014. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Bevsek-Verbick - West Allis 2-6PM. A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Father Aiken will be celebrated Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 11AM at St. Sebastian Parish (5400 W. Washington Blvd. ). Priest friends and former colleagues are invited to concelebrate; please bring an alb and white stole. Private burial with the family will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.Show more
