It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious daughter, Jennifer Marie Henry. Jenny was born to Raymond Clell and Doris Louise Meredith Henry on August 1, 1984, in the Lincoln Community Hospital in Lincoln County, Colorado. She graduated from this life into the next on November 23 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan, Colorado, following a short illness. Jenny was one of three children raised in a Christian home with her sister, Rachael Dawn and her brother Joshua Timothy Ray in Limon, Colorado. Jenny attended Limon Elementary and Genoa-Hugo School, where she graduated in May 2005. Some activities Jenny enjoyed were swimming, attending movies, visiting the library, bowling, hiking, her cockateel and parakeet, watching Hallmark movies, puzzle working, and going on vacations with her family. She also enjoyed spending time on the phone with her boyfriend, who lives in another group home; learning to cook and doing civic- minded activities and attending formal and casual dances with Vicky Duran and the kids in her group. During her life, some of the places she visited were the Wild Animal Sanctuary outside of Fort Morgan, San Diego, CA; Tuscan, the Grand Canyon, AZ; the Great Sand Dunes, CO; Rocky Mountain N. P. CO, Yellowstone N. P. , WY, Branson, MO, New Braunfels, TX, Orlando, and Vero Beach, Florida, and visited her sister in Miles City, MT. Jenny loved Jesus and attended The Oasis of Hope Church while she lived in Limon or was home for visits. While she was in Fort Morgan, she attended a Baptist church there. In October 2018, her family moved her to a group home in Fort Morgan, where she found many new friends, including a staff member named Rosa. Jenny loved helping Rosa do housework, and Rosa would do things for Jenny, like braiding her hair and polishing Jenny's nails. She loved living in the group home and enjoyed the independence it gave her. Jenny is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Roy Meredeth, maternal grandmother Pauline Phyllis Harpel, and paternal grandfather, Donald Ray Henry. She is survived by her grandmother, Rose (Don) Henry, and her parents, Ray and Doris Henry; her siblings, Joshua (Destrie) Henry of Hugo and Rachael (Jeremy) Westbrook; her niece McKenzie, Henry; and her nephews, Elijah Westbrook, Timothy Fowler, Rodney Fowler, and Daniel Henry. Her surviving aunts and uncles include Deana (Jim) Nall, Amy (Mark) Riemenschneider, John (Michelle) Henry, Cal (Debbie) Meredith, Hal (Ida) Meredith, Dana (Robert) Shell, Kay (Gene) Meredith, and foster aunts (mother's foster family) Susie Thelen and Renee (Fred) Bletzacker and foster uncle Casey (Reneta) Thelen. A celebration of life for longtime Haswell and Kiowa County resident, Marlynn Eikenberg will be held @ the Haswell Community Building @ 11 AM Tuesday, November 14, 2023. There will be a private family viewing only. Marlynn was born on February 10, 1963 in Eads, CO to Marlin and Betty Eder (McKnight) and passed away at her home in Haswell, CO on November 6, 2023 with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her father, Marlin Eder, father in-law, Delmer Eikenberg and mother in-law Delores Eikenberg, paternal grandparents, Raymond and Hannah Eder, and maternal grandparents, Glenn and Helen McKnight. Marlynn is survived by her mother, Betty Clark of Eads CO, husband, Delton Eikenberg of the family home in Haswell, CO. Her children Haley (Jason) Reedy of Lamar, CO, Casey (Shannon) Gibbs of Haswell, CO, and Dusty Eikenberg of Haswell, CO. She is survived by her grandchildren Reygan Gibbs, Kinley Reedy, Giana Gibbs, Gage Gibbs, Brock Reedy, Cheyanne (Draven) Adame and one great-grandson, Lincoln Adame along with one on the way. She is survived by her brother, Lonnie (Debbie) Eder, sister in-laws, Delinda (Allen) Davisson, Delene (Roger) DeGroot, Delisa (Mike) Weeks, and brother in-law Delmar (Cindy) Eikenberg, and significant other of Marlin Eder, Pat Roper as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. Services are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home in Hugo, CO. Cecil D. Gritz passed away unexpectedly on September 26, 2023, at the age of 79; two months short of his 80th birthday. He was born November 11, 1943, in Dodge City, Kansas. He grew up in Eastern Colorado in a town called Flagler. He knew at a very young age that he wanted to be a Petroleum Engineer Cecil spent nearly 60 years of active experience in the exploration, drilling, completion, and production phases of the oil & gas industry and was working up until the day he passed away. Upon completion of his academic requirements for a professional engineer's degree in petroleum engineering from Colorado School of Mines, Cecil joined Shell Oil Company in the Denver Area/Rocky Mountain Division with main office in Denver. He worked on projects in areas throughout the Rockies including Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado & Utah, followed by subsequent assignments involving activities in the Permian Basin, Midcontinent, and Northern Michigan. After leaving Shell, Cecil was involved at various levels with several public and private entities, and had extensive experience in the formation, administration, and direct implementation of activities for companies with operations throughout most onshore and inland waterways US producing areas. His international experience included projects in Canada, Indonesia, Colombia, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, and Romania. Cecil had comprehensive experience with deep directional drilling projects in East Texas, Permian Basin, Southeast New Mexico, Western Oklahoma, Louisiana, Paradox Basin, Piceance Basin of Western Colorado, Germany, and Egypt. He designed and implemented multistage fracture stimulation projects in Piceance Basin, Fort Worth Basin, Permian Basin, and Deep Powder River Basin of Wyoming and handled large multi well production operations on Cedar Creek Anticline in Eastern Montana, on Navajo Reservation in Northwest New Mexico, and in Indonesia. He married Victoria Crisp on May 29, 1966, in Flagler, Colorado. They knew each other from first grade. Given Cecil's involvement in many locations in the oil & gas industry and while serving in the US Army Core of Engineers during the Vietnam conflict, they made their homes in Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, and Texas. They also spent one year living in Alexandria, Virginia during Cecil's military service. In 1973, their daughter was born in Midland, Texas and 18 months later, in 1975, their son was born in Englewood, Colorado. Although Cecil lived and travelled extensively to many places, he was a resident of Pecan Plantation, Texas for nearly 40 years. He was a past Pecan Plantation Owners Association (PPOA) BOD President and served on numerous committees. He first visited Pecan Plantation in the early 1970s and worked with the original developers on many initiatives to better PPOA. He was a Christian and a member at the Acton United Methodist Church for many years and their family attended the United Methodist Church in Littleton, Colorado. He was raised in the Baptist Church in Flagler, Colorado. He was an avid snow skier until the age of 75 something he did with his, wife and two children from the time they were two years old. He loved the outdoors especially the Rocky Mountains. He also enjoyed cycling and their family shared many wonderful experiences in Summit County, Colorado at their place in Frisco. Cecil also served as a board director for the Ten Mile Island Owners association in Frisco, Colorado and was part of establishing the Orchard Creek Owners Association in Greenwood Village, Colorado. He was also a 'MacGyver'. If something didn't work or needed fixed, he could make anything happen. Cecil is preceded in death by his mother, Edith Gritz and father, Charles Gritz; his brothers Melvin and Orville Gritz. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Victoria Gritz; daughter, Juliet Gritz; and son, Matthew Gritz; numerous extended family, friends, and business associates around the world. He was dearly loved and an amazing Dad and husband. He never missed an opportunity to lend someone a helping hand even if it meant he went without. This was true in his personal and professional life. One of his nieces has remarked that he lived big and well. Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held on October 21, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. at the Eads Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Eads Senior Citizens Center. After nearly 93 years, Richard A. "Pete" West left this life to find those who had a gone before him. He was born November 6, 1930 in Marshall, MO to Raymond and Lucille (Clopton) West. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Melva June West. He is survived by their children Vickie (Danny) Shine, David (Berta) West, Dana Carr, Jamie (Rudy) Krause 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Richard was a Boxer in College and was honored to win the "Golden Gloves". He worked for Jack Construction building grain elevators, which brought him to Eads where he met Melva June Lahr. They were married in 1951. Soon after, the draft called him to the US Army and they relocated to Fort Riley, Kansas where he served as a drill sergeant during the Korean Conflict. After his military service they returned to Eads and raised their family. In 1969 they moved to Colorado Springs, where he was a building contractor. When not working, he hunted whenever there was a chance. He was an avid outdoorsman and shooter and was a longtime member of the Issac Walton League in Colorado Springs, where he was competitive at Trap and Skeet shooting, scoring well in competitions. Fortunately, he was able to travel to Africa with his son in 2000 at the age of 70 for the hunt of his life. It was a love of Richard and June to taking their children and grandchildren on camping and fishing trips throughout Colorado.
