Born October 10th, 1948, to parents Samuel and Martha Countryman (Carl) in Garden City, KS, Bonnie was many things to many people throughout her life, including a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend. After marching in the 1966 Tournament of Roses Parade with her band classmates, Bonnie graduated from Sydney High School in Sydney, NE the same year. Afterwards, she moved to southern California with her best friends from high school, where they shared an apartment together, until she met her soulmate and love of her life, Don Hazlett, whom she married in 1971. They moved to Ridgecrest, CA, in 1983, and opened Desert Diesel Truck and Auto Repair, which they owned and operated until 1999, when they moved back to Nebraska, to be closer to her family, settling in Plattsmouth, NE. Bonnie worked for the Plattsmouth Journal for many years, and truly enjoyed her time and the friends she made there, until she retired, and spent her remaining years enjoying her family and pursuing one of her greatest passions, researching genealogy.
