Mark Powell

Mark Powell

Age - 66

December 8, 2023

There are a few things in particular my brother and I will always cherish; one of which is that our father Mark Powell (age 66), was born on March 1st, 1957, to Eva Mae (nee Williams) and Otis Powell. There were all sorts of stories he would tell about the adventures he had as a young man in a crowded house of ten siblings-often speaking of the hijinks they would partake in (and subject each other to), and of course the bond they would build with one another over their lifetimes-celebrating with many cookouts, camping trips, and get-togethers in our home and elsewhere. He loved his family dearly. Our dad would spend the rest of his life chasing a similar thrill to that upbringing. His love for cars would connect him with many other folks and friends who shared a similar love for speed and the competition of drag racing-typically legally. Mark retired from Ford Motor Company in 2010 following a twenty-one year career as a member of Union Auto Workers Local 863, making many strong connections-Mark never met a stranger, and loved his friends as much as his family. Stories have been told of the troubles they often got into, and these stories were cherished and retold many times. Our dad also loved being outdoors; sitting by a campfire, smiling and telling jokes with family and friends. Of course, he was always proud to share that love with his surviving wife of thirty-six years, Joanna (nee Bertram). He loved watching his children, Mark (Hallie) Powell and Nathan Powell, live the lives he could provide. He always held a special place in his heart for his nephew Brandon Bertram, whom he felt was one of his own. Mark is also survived by siblings: Phil (Nancy) Mullins, Jenny Downie, Charlie (Debbie) Sizemore, and Ruth (Jamie) Bustle. He is preceded in death by beloved siblings: Phyllis Ann Mullins, Tim Powell, Becky Franklin, Pam Born, Debbie Adams, and Odis Powell. Mark passed on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023. The Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at Mueller Funeral Home with John Bertram officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Mueller Funeral Home is honored to serve the Powell Family. 513-398-9100Show more
