In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son Tim Abbott; siblings, Bob Abbott, Jim Abbott, Jack (Sharon) Abbott and special friend Jackie Koster. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, gambling, fishing and attending mud bogs. Thomas Lynn McHalpine, age 79, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024. He was born in Pontiac, MI, to the late Jack McHalpine and Arlene Martens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather Arnold Kunisch and brother Scott McHalpine. Tom served in the United States Army during Vietnam as a lieutenant (Co. D, 5-46th Infantry Regiment, 198th Light Infantry Brigade, 23rd (Americal) Infantry Division) and was a Purple Heart recipient. He will be deeply missed by his son, Andrew (Krista) McHalpine; siblings, Gary (Pat) McHalpine, LoAnn (Duane) Reiman, Tim (Maryann) McHalpine, Kathy (Jim) Butler, Morley McHalpine, Lynn (Dan) Zuzga, and many nieces and nephews. Craig Siebelink, of Coopersville, passed away very unexpectedly on January 2, 2024. Grieving him are his wife, Terri, children Thomas Siebelink of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kaylor Siebelink, of Coopersville. Craig was preceded in death by his mom, Marilyn Siebelink, and his in-laws, Tom and Kay Kalaher as well as his brother-in-law, Scott Kalaher. Craig will also be dearly missed by his father, Larry Siebelink, of Coopersville, brother, Joel (Tammy) Siebelink of Ravenna, sister Jane (Scott) Harris of Coopersville, sister-in-law Dee (Keith) Oparka of New Baltimore, Linda (Mike) Noel of Conklin, Jill (Bruce) Kalaher of Coopersville, and several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. Craig was a proud Gulf War I U.S. Army Veteran who was previously stationed in Germany. For the past 28 years, Craig was employed by General Motors and worked in Coopersville, Wyoming, and Delta Township. Being a dad was the greatest joy of Craig's life, and he shined when talking of and to his children. In addition to fatherhood, Craig loved sports, hunting, his dogs, tattoos, collecting, and death metal music. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. Michael James Dippre, age 64, of Coopersville, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at his home with family at his side. Mike was born in Livonia MI., to the late James and Dorothy (Padden) Dippre. He worked at MichCor Container’s in Grand Rapids as a Maintenance Technician. Mike enjoyed his family and spoiling his grandchildren, camping at Sportsman Park Campground at Hardy Dam, where he has had a camper for 20 plus years. He also enjoyed boating, NASCAR, was a Lion’s fan and was the go to guy if you needed something fixed as Mike could pretty much fix anything. Mike is survived by his wife of 35 yrs. Elaine (Kreuzer) Dippre, stepchildren, Scott McGillis, Angela (Jon) Griffis and Brooks (Amberlyn) McGillis; 9 stepgrandchildren, Jada McGillis, Grady McGillis, Ryan McGillis, Lexus Dankert and fiancé Michael Hiles, Sawyer Griffis, Ethan Hohman, Cooper Hohman, Dream (Mateo) Carbajal and Nevaeh McGillis; sisters, Mary Dippre and Nancy Dippre; mother-in-law, Joann Kreuzer; brother-in-law, Gary (Sue) Kreuzer; sisters-in-law, Connie Hilgendorf, Teresa Budds, Brenda Bamsey and Stacey Hallman; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Doris is survived by her son, Ross (Sally) Slager; daughter-in-law, Linda (Jerry) Smith; son-in-law, Edward Bouwman; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her very special friend William "Hap" Hecker. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Lee Slager; her son, M. Hunter Slager; her daughter Tani Lee Bouwman; and her second husband Joseph Paul Sommerdyke. Bonnie was the superfan of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved dolphins and enjoyed gardening and traveling. One of her largest interests was auto racing. In addition to being a fan of the sport, she was a mother to racers, had a grand respect for the sport, and was an advocate for the safety of all involved. Interestingly, in her waning years, she became a huge MSU Basketball fan, almost never missing a game while watching (very close to, and very loud) the TV with her husband, Jim. A private family funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 26 with Pastor Larry Bush officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery in Byron Township. Marvin R. Mershon Sr. , age 89, of Nunica passed away with his family at his side Wednesday November 1, 2023. Marv was born on August 9, 1934 in Oklahoma later moving to Michigan where he found work, married and raised his family on his farm in Nunica. Marv worked for the U. S. Army Corp. of Engineers, beginning his career in Detroit and retired from the Grand Haven Office with 25 yrs. of service. Marv enjoyed farming, hunting with his sons and granddaughters, fishing the big lake, his many hunting trips out west and spoiling his dogs and cats. He spent much of his free time watching the deer from his deck. After his retirement he spent winters fishing near and relaxing at his home in Florida. Marv will be deeply missed by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Shelly Mershon, his two granddaughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Blaine Reinoehl, Annie and Brad Keller and his twin great granddaughters, Jude Reinoehl and Jade Reinoehl. " Winnifred (Winnie) Anne Egan Spencer, age 88, of Coopersville, MI entered into her heavenly home on November 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Allen Clare Spencer, her parents, Martin and Catherine Egan, siblings Mary (Don Corner/Wally Luce), Rose (Louis Goosen) and Mart (Frances Goosen) Egan; and in-law’s Bill and Marilyn Spencer, Fred Schraegle and Wally Clark. Winnie is survived and loved by her nine children: Sr. Althea Anne Spencer-OSF, Louann (Arlyn) Doornbos, Roseann (Mike) Sessions, Susanne (Dan) Veeneman, Allen (Lori) Spencer, Patrick (Teresa) Spencer, Troy (Jill) Spencer, Wayne (Jeri) Spencer, Katie (Joe) Walker; her sister-in-law Delores "Dee" Schraegle; grandchildren Emily (Jason) DeFouw, Bridgette (Sharky Marin) Veeneman, Jason (Jessica) Doornbos, Erin (Ryan) Smith, Amanda (Adam) Spedoske, Nathan (Adam Hutchens) Veeneman, Gini (Doug Brown) Sessions, Jonathan Doornbos, Jake VanBelzen, Stephanie (Kyle) Branda, David Doornbos, Doug (Heather) Spencer, Hannah Spencer, Elijah Spencer, Sarah Spencer, Cecelia Spencer, Jennah Spencer, Molly Walker, Jack Walker; great-grandchildren Caroline, Collin, Clara and Cora DeFouw; Otis and Cleo Marin; Garrett, Deacon, and Vincent Smith; John, Lily, Matt, Emma, and Andrew Spedoske; Raelynn and Jase Spencer; "Baby" Brown; along with many nieces and nephews. Winnie had many varying work experiences over the years. She was well known as the Stanley Home Products lady which she did for well over 40 years. Her favorite was the years working for the Coopersville Veterinary Hospital. She had a passion for animals and she knew everyone’s cat or dog. Her other passions were her church, St. Michael’s where she was a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher, and baking and feeding people. She made and served monthly birthday cakes for the homeless of Grand Rapids at God’s Kitchen for over 35 years. She made wedding cakes for family and friends. Winnie also organized and served the Repast funeral lunches at St. Michael’s Church. She was best known for her peanut brittle, pineapple upside down cakes, and her Texas brownies. Her favorite day of the week was Sunday; Mass in the morning and the weekly open-door Sunday Family Dinners in the evening. She instilled her deep faith in her children and was very supportive of their many involvements…which kept her on the move! She will be deeply missed but remembered for her love of music, dance, prayer, and especially her children and animals. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 11:00 A. M. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 17150 88t Ave, Coopersville with Fr. Michael Hodges Celebrant. Burial will be next to her husband Al in St Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Coopersville. Charles enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, hunting and fishing.
