Bonita C. (Kurtz) Solorio, 68, of Topton, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, PA. Born March 19, 1955, in West Reading, Bonnie was the daughter of Shirley I. (Burkert) Kurtz, West Grove, PA, and the late Melvin G. Kurtz. Bonnie worked as program coordinator in mental health for Apis Management, Exeter, for 19 years. She also worked at Giorgio Foods, R. M. Palmer Chocolate Company, and as a private caretaker. Bonnie was a past member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading, and attended Mohawk High School, Columbus, Ohio. She truly enjoyed reading, playing games, especially bingo, shopping and traveling. In addition to her mother, Shirley, Bonnie is survived by her brothers Keith and his wife, Lisa, Jeff and his wife Mary Ann, and Kevin and his wife Shanna. She is also survived by her sisters, Melody, Patricia, and Theresa, and by her aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Along with her father, Bonnie was preceded in death by her two children, Jaime Cruz and Krissel Cruz, her stepfather, Theodore Cramner, and her sister, Carol. Funeral Services for Bonnie will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 10:30 am at Walbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 14390 Kutztown Road, Fleetwood. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral services on Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will take place privately in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Willard C. Kriebel, age 92, of Boyertown. Passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in the Lutheran Home in Topton. Born in Bally, PA. He was a son of the late Rosa (Henry) and Ferdinand Kriebel. He was employed in his early years as a carpenter, a truck driver, and owned his own upholstery and drapery business. He last worked as a tour bus driver for over 5 years until his retirement. Willard was a Private in the USAF serving in Korea. He was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 610 Pine St. , Bally, PA 19503. Willard had a passion for spending time with his family, woodworking, model railroading, and volunteering with the Bally Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Troop 568 and Meals on Wheels. He is survived by his children, Cynthia wife of John Hower of Jonestown, Sharon Adams of Pinellas Park, FL, Dennis husband of Tina Kriebel of Macungie, Alan husband of Lisa Kriebel of Boyertown, Richard Kriebel companion of Vicki Evans of Lehighton, and Robert husband of Barbara Kriebel of Largo, FL. Grandchildren, Michael husband of Sarah Hower, Jillian wife of Vincent Degani, Kassandra Adams, Corey husband of Lisa Adams, and Alexander Kriebel. Great Grandchildren, Jilyanna, Brady, Owen, Shawn, Joshua, Miles, Callen, and Raina. Siblings, Rosemary Kriebel of Albuquerque, NM, and Vincent husband of Barbara Kriebel of Bechtelsville. A sister-in-law, Marion Kriebel of Bechtelsville. He is predeceased by an infant son Willard C. Kriebel, Jr. , a sister Dolores Weinsteiger, a brother Kenneth Kriebel, and his longtime companion Elaine Jones. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Bally on Saturday November 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends may call at church Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be in Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery, Bally. Gerald D. Evans "Jerry", 89, passed away on October 7, 2023 at The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the husband of Margaret S. Evans. They shared 63 wonderful years together. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Thelma E. Edwards, adopted son of grandparents Thomas J. Evans, and Jennie M. Evans, with Russell C. Kunkel and Doris J. Kunkel continuing parental care upon the death of Thomas and Jennie Evans. Gerald graduated from Reading High School in 1952. He was drafted and served in the US Army, and Army Reserves. He was stationed in Germany and received the Good Conduct Medal. He received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education from Temple University. He worked as an educator for over 40 years. He was a print shop teacher in the Reading School District at Northwest Junior High, Reading High, and Northmont. Gerald was coordinator and then principal at the Berks Votech West in Leesport, Pa. He was an administrator for Berks Votech West, and Reading Muhlenberg Votech night school programs, as well as, an administrator for the Berks Career Assessment Center and RACC. Gerald was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in West Reading, serving on church council, and was active in the food pantry for many years. He was a member of F. & A. M. Masonic Lodge 62, Rajah Shrine, and Scottish Rite. He enjoyed the Masonic Train Club, playing golf, bowling, and darts. He was a Cub Scout, and Boy Scout leader. Gerald enjoyed attending his daughter's musical performances, and his granddaughter's sporting events. Gerald was a Phillies and Yankees fan, attending many memorable Yankees games with his son. Gerald will be remembered for always helping anyone he could, from summer youth programs, to Meals On Wheels. He especially loved old time radio, tv, and movies. Left to treasure his memory are his wife Margaret, daughter Amy Evans, son Thomas Evans, grandchildren Charlotte Evans, and Violet Evans, and his sister Doreen Moll. Gerald was predeceased by his mother Thelma E. Edwards, adopted parents (grandparents) Thomas J. Evans and Jennie M. Evans, his parental caregivers Russell C. Kunkel, and Doris J. Kunkel, brother Russell J. Kunkel, and daughter- in- law Nena M Evans. The funeral will be held on Saturday October 28, 2023, at 11:00a. m, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 336 Franklin Street, West Reading, PA, 19611. Joanne C. Groff, 86, of Boyertown, Widow of John E. Groff. Passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday August 19, 2023 in the Lutheran Home at Topton. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Mildred (Renninger) and Leonard Mathias. She worked for Tung-Sol, Weidner's Deli, the cafeteria at Earl Elementary School, H&R Block Tax Services and served as the Earl Township Tax Collector. Joanne was an active member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as a former church Treasurer, helped make Chow Chow, and was involved in many events. Joanne is survived by her children, Judy L. wife of Jacob W. Dautrich of Fleetwood, PA. Jane A. wife of Robert Hetrick III of Panama, NY. And John J. "Chip" Groff husband of Angela L. of Jeromesville, OH, 6 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 1 on the way. Siblings, Leonard husband of Susan Mathias of Douglassville and Patti wife of William Knapp of Boyertown. Joanne is predeceased by her infant son James L. Groff who passed away in 1969 and great granddaughter Charlotte. Funeral Services will be held at the Linwood W.
