Doris Merle Murray, age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, March 3, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born on November 12, 1949, in Broken Arrow, OK to Homer Clinton and Sylvia Christine (Curtis) Willhite. Doris's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, hard work, and the simple joys that create a life well-lived. Doris attended Broken Arrow and Coweta schools, forming lifelong friendships and laying the foundation for her future. She married the love of her life, Richard L. Murray, on December 21, 1978, in Wagoner, OK. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and the occasional adventure by the river. Professionally, Doris was known for her skill and leadership at Sun Manufacturing in Coweta, where she worked as a machinist and shop supervisor. Her colleagues respected her for her work ethic and her ability to guide with both strength and compassion. Doris's passions were as rich and varied as the life she led. She found joy in the simple pleasures of playing bingo, sewing, and spending time outdoors, especially camping at the river. Her dogs were her constant companions, and her love for them was a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Doris's greatest delight, however, was her family. She is survived by her loving children, Jimmy Hand and wife Carol of Lamar, AR, Gary Hand of Coweta, OK, and Amy Asbill and husband Gerald of Pryor, OK. Doris's legacy continues through her 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by her siblings, Cheryl Reynolds and husband Rick of Coweta, OK, Paula Replogle of Broken Arrow, OK, Bruce Willhite of Coweta, OK, Kim Pearson and husband Jerry of Coweta, OK, and Kellie Miller and husband Chebon of Broken Arrow, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard L. Murray, her parents, Homer Clinton and Sylvia Christine Willhite, her sister, Beverly Replogle, and her stepdaughter, Cheryl Murray. Doris’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love and family. Her warmth, resilience, and the joy she found in every day will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Visitation for Doris will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Brown Funeral Home in Coweta, OK. Services celebrating her life will take place at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Community Baptist Church in Coweta, OK, with Pastor Adam Mask officiating. She is survived by her daughter Natalie Wilfong, her grandchildren Jacquelyn Hayes and Kelly Carpenter, and her great-grandchildren Oliver Allen, Dayton Allen, and Lakelynn Allen. He was also a dedicated Judoka, and this was a significant part of his life where he formed long lasting friendships and nurtured international athletes. He brought joy to every gathering with his cuatro, singing Venezuelan songs and spreading happiness to all who surrounded him. He leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and cherished memories. Lenin is survived by his sons and daughter Natalia, Alexis J, Alexis R, Lenin, Javier, and Jose R, as well as his adored grandsons and granddaughters Natasha, Antonella, Alexis E, Adrian, Leonardo, Sebastian, and Sofia. Marilyn Juanita Curry, age 98, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at her residence. She was born on February 6, 1926 in Bemis, Tennessee to Frank and Mary Lee Wise (McKenzie). Marilyn was known as a sweet, caring lady, and always properly dressed, whether in a formal setting or camping with her family. She lived in Tennessee until she moved with her family to Sand Springs, Oklahoma when she was 14. She was a graduate of Sand Springs High School, now known as Charles Page High School. Marilyn was a member of Broadway Baptist Church in Sand Springs until later in life when she joined Southern Hills Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She taught second grade Sunday school for more than 20 years and was always very active in her church. Marilyn married Milton Kitchens, Sr. and they were married for 42 years. Later she was married to Johnny Rauser of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Following his death, she met and married the love of her life, Richard Curry of Tulsa. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Lee Wise, her brothers, Frank Wise and Allen Wise, her husbands, Milton Kitchens, Sr., Johnny Rauser, and Richard Curry, and her son Milton Kitchens, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Frances Cabioc of Sand Springs, her son and his wife, John Stanley and Edie Kitchens of Jenks, Oklahoma, one niece, Kara Hendricks of Sand Springs, and one nephew and his wife, Steve and Linda Wise of Richardson, Texas, four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Stanleys Funeral Service, 3539 East 31st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74135. Internment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5111 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Lunch will be served at the home of Stan and Edie Kitchens following the service and internment.
