December 9, 2023
It is with a blend of sorrow and gratitude that we remember the life of James Hersey Skinner, who was born on September 5, 1951, in El Paso, Texas, and passed away on December 4, 2023 in Tulsa, OK. James was a man deeply rooted in his home of Sand Springs, Oklahoma. A proud alumnus of Riley Elementary, Madison, and Central High School, James was a testament to the value of diligence and ambition. He graduated high school in 1969 and initially worked for WC Norris where he became a skilled welder before moving onto Sun Oil Refinery where he worked as an operator. But what truly defined James was not his career, rather his passions outside of work. As an avid outdoorsman, he found joy and contentment in fishing and hunting. Moreover, his grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he relished every opportunity he had to spoil them. James is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Skinner of the home; his sons, Steven Skinner and wife, Carol of Sand Springs, Mike and wife, Shelly of Sand Springs, and Daniel and wife, Teddy of Sand Springs; his grandchildren, Stephanie Lawrence, Bailey Skinner, Matthew Skinner, and Jacob Skinner; great grandchildren, Landon, Evan, and Grayson; and several step-grandchildren; his siblings, Donna Bauer, Jack Skinner and Nadia Reynolds. His life was a testament to the power of family, love, and resilience. James has been reunited with his father, Hersey Skinner, his mother, Alma Skinner, his brother, David Skinner, and his granddaughter, Danielle Skinner, who all preceded him in death. James Skinner's spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of those he left behind. His story, his laughter, and the wisdom he imparted will forever be treasured. We invite you to leave your memories, share your stories, and upload photos of James to the memorial page ar www. dilloncares. com. It is through these shared remembrances that his legacy will continue to light the way for those who follow.Show more
