Bird Ramsey Williams, daughter of the late Edward H. Ramsey and Grace AmosRamsey, passed peacefully on September 30, 2023 in the Legacy Living Facilitylocated in Little River, SC. Bird was born August 16, 1926 in Guilford County, NC. As a student of Hamlet High, she also worked for the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. Upon graduating high school, Bird attended Louisburg College and subsequentlymarried Adolphus A. (Andy) Williams on December 29, 1951, a relationship thatwould last 64 years. Bird was absolutely devoted to family just like her mother before her. She had akind disposition, was humble, and loved to smile and laugh. She was an avidreader and known to buy almost anything from both the neighborhood kids andsalesmen. She was aware of the plight and conditions of friends and groupsthroughout the community and society and endeavored to pass thisunderstanding onto her three sons. She was much appreciated by family andfriends, especially her nieces and nephews. When the family moved to Statesville in 1959, she worked at Mitchell Collegewhile bringing up her family. The family moved again in 1971 to Lenoir, NC and asher sons graduated from High School, Bird went back to school and earned adegree in Library Science. She begin her third and final career as Librarian at theWestern Carolina Center for Children in Morganton, NC. Bird is survived by her three sons; Adolphus A. Williams III and wife Alice of NorthMyrtle Beach in SC, Brockton R. Williams and wife Andrea of Nashville, TN, andBradley W. Williams of Charlottesville, VA. She is also survived by fivegrandchildren; Carrie Bird Williams of Charleston in SC, Corbin H. Williams,Caroline G. Williams and Christian H. Williams of New York, NY, and Brandi L. Carol A. ClarkeHeaven welcomed another angel on Sunday, December 3, 2023, when Carol A. Clarke, 62, passed awaypeacefully at McLeod Seacoast hospital, N. Myrtle Beach, SC, following a brief stay. Carol was thebeloved wife of Craig A. Clarke of Plum, PA, her childhood friend to whom she was married for 32 years. Born Carol Ann Worek on September 13, 1961, Carol was the youngest of three children of the lateLeona (Johnson) Worek and Stanley E. Worek of Penn Hills, PA. She graduated from Penn Hills HighSchool in 1979 and later earned an associate degree in accounting. Carol and her husband Craig married in 1992 and initially made their home in Plum. She began herprofessional career in the Pittsburgh area at Duquesne Litho and The Pennysaver. Later, she worked as aproject manager and a financial analyst within the printing industry in Chicago. But it was her 19-yearaccounting role at SciWorks Science & Nature Museum in Winston-Salem that she was most proud. Carol and Craig moved throughout the U. S. over three decades, settling into homes in Carol Stream, IL,Winston-Salem, NC, Loveland, OH, and Kernersville, NC. The couple had most recently built a new homein Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Carol loved the beach and had always wanted to live near it. She enjoyed walking along the shore andsoaking in the warm sunshine. She also loved traveling with Craig throughout their marriage. Herfavorite destination was Italy. Another of Carol's loves was her fluffy white Maltese, Hali, who shealways cuddled closely in her arms. More than anything, Carol loved her family, especially her parents,whom she missed terribly after their passing. Those who know Carol will remember her sweet smile, her gentle and caring personality, and her quietelegance. She left us too soon and is greatly missed by her husband, family, and friends. In keeping with her wishes, no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a laterdate to honor Carol's memory. Contributions in Carol's name may be made to the American Society forthe Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), a charity she supported and cared about.Show more

Joan Esther Rose Kennedy, age 93 late of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, passed away on November 28th, 2023 at Embrace Hospice Care of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Joan was born to Fred and Sally Rose on September 1st, 1930, in Haverstraw, NY. She was a 1949 graduate of Haverstraw High School, and married Donald Edwin Kennedy of Moravia, NY, on the 23rd of October 1954 in Haverstraw; later she and her husband Don settled in nearby Stony Point, NY and lived there for many years prior to their retirements. Following her high school graduation, Joan graduated from the Frances Gordon School of Modeling in New York City and worked for several years as a model in New York. In later years Joan enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren with stories of her modeling days and her encounters with celebrities such as Walt Disney and Tony Bennett in the elevator of the RKO Building where she worked. After her marriage, Joan worked for over 23 years as a school secretary in West Haverstraw prior to her and Don's retirement. After their retirement, Joan and her husband Don moved to Hanover, PA where they enjoyed many happy years, spending their summers at their lake house on Owasco Lake in New York's Finger Lakes region. Following Don's passing, Joan moved to North Carolina where her daughter Cindy could better help with her care. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Donald Edwin Kennedy, her parents Fred and Sally Rose of Stony Point, NY, as well as Don's parents, Paul and Genevieve Kennedy of Moravia, NY and Joan's sister Marjorie Chisholm and her husband Alex Chisholm of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Joan is survived by her children, daughter Cynthia Kennedy Campbell and husband Michael Campbell, son Donald Edwin Kennedy, Jr and wife Dina Viotto Kennedy, as well as grandchildren Sarah Campbell Meyers and her husband Jeff Meyers, Matthew Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Danielle Kennedy VanLent and her husband Sam VanLent and Christina Kennedy-Dunne and her husband Matthew Dunne. Joan is also survived by three great granddaughters, Madeline Meyers, Annabelle Meyers and Gianna VanLent. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A. M. on December 13th at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Auburn, NY where Joan will be laid to rest alongside, her husband Don overlooking their beloved Owasco Lake.
