Mrs. Binnie White Farmer passed away in Orange, Texas on October 4, 2023. Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Goldens Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana on Monday, October 9, 2023. Visitation is from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm with the Service beginning at 2:00 pm. Mrs. Farmer was born in Bastrop on October 29, 1930, to the late Lee A. White and Mae Day White. She was graduate of Bastrop High School and the Bish Mathis Business College. Mrs. Farmer was employed with International Paper Company for 43 years. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Bastrop. She was also a member of the Quarter Century Club of the International Paper Company, the Literary Forum, honorary member of the International Club of the International Paper Company, a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and the Business and Professional Women's Organization during her working years. Preceding Mrs. Farmer in death was her husband, Billy Farmer; her son, Sonny Farmer; her parents, Lee A. and Mae Day White; her brother, Billy White; her sister, Maxine White Dennard; and her niece, Terri Dennard Kavanaugh. Surviving Mrs. Farmer is her son, Richard Farmer and wife Cody; daughter in law, Teresa Farmer; granddaughters, Babbette Adcock, Elizabeth Farmer, and Brooke Churchwell; grandson, William A. Farmer; great grandsons, Reed Adcock, and Anthony Allred; niece, Linda Dennard Kinnison and husband Ed; and nephew, David Dennard and wife Ellaine.

"Curtis "Shorty" Fowler, 73, of Orange, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2023, at his home in Orange. With his wife by his side!! Funeral services will be 2:00 p. m. , Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Keith Pennington. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. , Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Hardin, Texas, on November 15, 1950, he was the son of Raymond Fowler and Larene Walters Fowler. Curtis loved music and could often be found playing his guitar and singing. Gospel music was his favorite. He also enjoyed watching movies, especially old westerns. Curtis adored his dog, Poodoo. He also loved food, his favorite being fried pork chops. Curtis was a big jokester and loved to make others laugh. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Larene Fowler; and his brother, Gary Lynn Fowler. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Fowler; his children, Paula Fowler of Kirbyville, Texas, Stacey Parish of Buna, Texas, and Tracy Parish of Amarillo, Texas; his grandchild, Richard Bishop of Kountze, Texas; and his brothers, Raymond Fowler of Silsbee, Texas, and Robert Lee Fowler and wife, Brenda of Saratoga, Texas. "Becky Lynn Book, 45, of Orange, Texas, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Orange, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Ridgewood Church in Port Arthur, Texas. Officiating will be Pastor Dustin Guidry of Ridgewood Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Orange, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p. m. , Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City, Texas. Born in Orange, Texas, on January 4, 1978, she was the daughter of Gary and Linda Owens. Becky lived in Orange her whole life and graduated from LCM in 1996. She went on to attend Lamar State College Orange. Becky married the love her life, Jeff Book, in 1999 and they blessed each other with 24 years of marriage. Jeff and Becky adored each other for the over 27 years that they were together; friends and family alike admired their relationship and will continue to for years to come. Becky joined the workforce for the first few years of their marriage but ultimately decided in 2009 to homeschool their two daughters, Gracie and Jamie. During those years, Becky and her family grew to be very close and created many valuable memories. Becky was an artist at heart and while homeschooling her daughters, she started a photography business that flourished for many years. She had a special talent for all forms of art and photography which led her into a teaching job at the Christian Academy of Fine Arts. She taught yearbook class, photography, and culinary arts. As her daughters approached graduation, Becky decided to reenter the workforce and worked as a secretary and attendance clerk at Vidor Junior High. Less than year after beginning to work again, Becky was unfortunately diagnosed with glioblastoma. Alongside the support of her family, she fought for 16 months until finally ending her fight to be with her Lord. She is preceded in death by her father Gary Owens; her grandparents Floyd and Betty Parsons and Ouida Davis Owens. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 24 years, Jeff Book; her daughters Gracie and Jamie Book; her mother, Linda Owens; her sister, Brooke Andrade and husband, Scott Andrade; her niece, Emma Andrade; in addition to many more loving family members Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Andrade, Richard Koger, Brad Parsons, Bryan Parsons, Enan Pedraza, and Manny Pedraza. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Simon. "Robert "Uncle Bud" Doucet Robert "Uncle Bud" Doucet, 70, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2023, at home. Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30 p. m. , Monday, December 4, 2023, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with a procession to Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery for a graveside service to begin at 2:00 p. m. Officiating will be Father Ernie Carpio of St. Henry Catholic Church. Born in Winnshire, Texas, on April 28, 1953, he was the son of Gaston Doucet and Marie (Thibodeaux) Doucet. Robert worked as a fabricator and welder for many years. He was a longtime member of St. Henry Catholic Church. Robert enjoyed being outside fishing or crabbing. He loved to cook and entertain for his family whenever he could and often loved to dance especially to cajun music. Robert like to refer himself as a doctor since he fixed his chicken's leg with a q-tip and would also let you know that he had a PhD. . . a post hole digger. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and even once tried out for the team in the 80's. Robert had a wonderful and joyful soul and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Demetria Lynn Cleveland (1977 - 2023) Demetria Lynn Cleveland was born on August 22, 1977 to Willie and Lee Francis Cleveland in Houston, Texas. Demetria, affectionately known as Mecha or B, was an inquisitive and humorous child. Demetria was baptized at an early age at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Orange, Texas where she remained a member. As a child she was a member of the youth choir, attended vacation Bible school and Sunday school. Demetria was a Class of 1995 graduate of West Orange Stark High School located in Orange, Texas. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Lamar University in 2022. She was an employee of West Orange Stark Independent School District from 2014 - 2023, most recently serving as a Library Aide at West Orange Stark Middle School. She worked in customer service for 20 years prior to working in the school system. In her pastime, she enjoyed reading books, journaling, watching movies, and making memories with friends and family. Demetria entered her eternal rest on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas. Demetria was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Kaleb T. Berry; and brother-in-law, Mavis Williams. Helen La Fontaine, age 93, of Orange Grove, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of the Coast and worked as a beautician, then she worked and retired in 1972 as Teacher and Disability Specialist with Headstart (Gulf Coast Community Action Agency). She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lyman, and enjoyed camping, fishing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard "Bully" Bond and Katie Belle Bosarge Bond; her husband, Robert J. "Dick" La Fontaine, Sr. ; her son, Robert J. "Bobby" La Fontaine, Jr. ; her grandson, Robert Alton McDaniel; and her great-grandson, John Robert Street. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Robinson (Mike), Linda Pucheu and Karen Farner (Mac); her daughter-in-love, Carolyn La Fontaine; her grandchildren, Sherry Pucheu, Cheryl Akins, Joe Robinson, Jeff La Fontaine, Lee Farner, Christy Thompson, Tim McDaniel, Chad Akins, and Tanya Akins; her 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; her dog, Daisy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends. "Elwin "Keith" Daniels, 68, of Orange, Texas, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on November 18, 2023. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2023, at West Orange Christian Church in West Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Reverend Bobby Granger. Born in Orange, Texas, on November 7, 1955, he was the son of Elbert Lee Daniels, Jr and Elsie Faye (Chandler) Daniels. Keith was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he was stationed in Pensacola and Scotland, falling in love with the country. In honor of his love of Scotland, he was gifted a plot of land there by his sister, Trisha, making him a Scottish Lord. Keith was a man of Christ and a member of West Orange Christian Church. He had a unique sense of humor, enjoyed a good joke, and was great with words and writing. In his free time, he liked watching the Dallas Cowboys, traveling, playing guitar, and singing. Keith had a love for horses and pickup trucks, especially Chevys. More than anything, though, he loved his family. His wife was his world, and he cared deeply about his great-nieces and nephews, whom he viewed as his grandchildren. Keith was an incredible husband, father, brother, and uncle, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Laurel "Lori" Daniels; his parents, Elbert Jr and Elsie Daniels; and his sisters, Tina Cassidy, Tonia Martz, and Tarianne Noe.
