Billy Sitton Obituary

"Funeral services for Mr. Billy Bob Sitton, 94, will be held on Saturday, May 13th, at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Henderson, with Dr. David Higgs officiating, under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Saturday, May13th at the church. Mr. Sitton was born December 4, 1928, at home in Oak Flat (Cushing), Texas to Kirk Sitton and Julia Inez Ayers Sitton. He graduated from Cushing High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University. He was drafted into the Army and at the end of basic training, he married his high school sweetheart, Janelle Davis at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. Mr. Sitton proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged with the Purple Heart. During his teaching career he served as a teacher, principal and administrator at Henderson, Beaumont, Kurten, and Pasadena Independent School Districts. He retired from Henderson ISD after serving as the Director of Transportation in 1990. Billy Bob was a loving husband, father, father-in-law and Granddaddy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Kirk and Inez Sitton, brothers Kirk Sitton, Jr. and Brooks Sitton. Also, brothers-in-law Bobby Davis and Kenneth Penney and sisters-in-law Jeanette Tallant and Louise Sitton. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Janelle Davis Sitton; son, Kerry Sitton (Lynn) of Tyler, Texas, grandsons, Korey Sitton of Houston and Kerby Sitton (Sammie) of Aubrey, Texas, and great grandchildren Kohen and Sloan Sitton. His sisters Julia Kay Penney and Deborah Ann Jones (Jerry). Also, two brothers-in-law, Major C. Davis (Carolyn) of Tomball, Texas,Jack W. Davis (Judy) of Austin, Texas, and Max Tallant of Cushing, Texas as well as many nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be conducted at Lyles-Sanders Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Kent Penney, Kyle Penney, Billy Keith Sitton, Reade Sitton, Jordan Jones, and Jon Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Sitton, Danny Sitton, Rick Sharp, Kyle Harrell, Willie Renfro, Jerry Hale, Johnny Penney, Jimmy Penney, Tad Titlow, John Doss, and Kevin Doss.
