Bill J. Corbin "Hammer", loving companion, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend entered into eternal rest at the age of 75 on June 19, 2022. A resident of Indianapolis he was born on April 24, 1947 in Beech Grove to the late Hester Corbin and Alice (Matthews) Corbin. He was a member of the Indy Mud Ducks Club. He was a welder and fork lift operator at Arvin Automotive, where he retired after 25 years of service. Bill was a CB radio operator and went by the handle "Hammerhead". He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping and his trips to Florida. Bill leaves behind to treasure his memory, his companion of 25 years, Barbara Helton and her children and grandchildren; children, Melissa (Shawn) Hartman, William "Billy" J. Anderson, and Jeremy "Brian" (Rebecca) Anderson; six grandchildren, Joshua White (Lindsey), Nathan Anderson (Marco), Brianna Anderson, Calyn Cloud, Elizabeth Anderson, David Anderson, three great grandchildren, Luc and Jameson White and Evelyn Osborne; sister, Becky (Gene) Boyd; and nieces and nephews that he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Lou Sullivan, Patricia Green, Rose Marie Wheatley and Heidi Ann Corbin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p. m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at G. H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis with visitation from 11:00 a. m. until the time of the service. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
