Natalie Carole Suter Davis arrived at the next chapter of her life on Saturday, December 2, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Natalie was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia to Richard Liskey Suter and Idah Noreen Payne Suter. She grew up with brothers Richard P. Suter (Mary) and Perry H. Suter (Kathy). Natalie went on to attend five colleges/universities while her Marine husband was transferred to several duty stations. While working full-time and raising a family, she earned an undergraduate and a master's degree from Mary Washington College. She was the Executive Director of the Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence (Empower House) and taught English at Stafford High School. Natalie implemented the Office for Volunteer Assistance for Stafford County and served as its coordinator and as the Stafford County Ombudsman. Natalie's hobbies included gardening, cooking, painting, and sewing. She worked on various community groups, including Hot Line and Parkinson's Support Group. She served for many years on the Board of Directors for Fredericksburg Counseling Services. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Fredericksburg and also served on its Board of Directors. She is survived by her husband, Ray Huston Davis; children Ray H. Davis II (Tricia) and Idah Rhea White (Jeffrey); grandchildren Emily Davis, Christine Terlisner (Joseph), and Stephanie Davis; as well as three great-grandsons, Matthias, Dominic, and Peter Terlisner. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery will take place at 10 a. m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Charles Dwayne Shutts, also known as "Charlie," was born on August 31, 1961 in Alexandria, VA to Randolph and Esther Mary Shutts. He left the world unexpectedly and entered into the gates of Heaven on Monday, November 27, 2023 at his home in Stafford, VA at the age of 62. Charlie was a selfless man who had a heart of gold. He loved deeply and opened his home to anyone who needed it. He had such a contagious laugh and a unique sense of humor. He loved "chicken," if you know, you know. He was also a diehard Redskins fan even though he threatened to burn the fan gear every time they would lose a game. Charlie loved his dogs who he considered as his family. He also loved decorating for the holidays and had the best blow ups! Charlie is survived by his son, Charles, Jr. (Diminga); daughters Mary (partner Nicholas), Robyn, and Stacey; previous wife, Betty; grandson Jeremiah; adopted granddaughter, Analeigh; siblings Suzie Barrera (Rafael), Randy Shutts (Kim), Doug Shutts, Frank Shutts (Myke), and April Sherwood (Dave); as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Shutts. Charlie was a truly great man whose impact will be forever felt by anyone who crossed his path. His passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. Charlie's ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew. Betty Madrid, 82, of Ruther Glen, VA, passed away at her daughter's home on Friday, December 1, 2023 after a brief battle with leukemia. She is survived by her husband, Paul Madrid; and children Jeanette and Curtis Madrid. Betty was born on March 5, 1941 in Washington, D. C. She grew up in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia, living with her grandparents, various family members, and foster parents until she came to live at St. Vincent's Orphanage and Catholic school in Washington, D. C. It was there that she learned to help and take care of others which later became a passion for her. After leaving St. Vincent's as a teenager, Betty worked various jobs before getting a job at Lloyds of London Insurance Company in Washington, D. C. which she loved. In 1958, she met the love of her life, Paul Madrid, and they wed on November 9, 1962. They went on to have two children, Jeanette Madrid and Curtis Madrid both of Spotsylvania, VA. Betty was co-owner with her husband of Paul Madrid Trash Service until their retirement in 2004. Betty loved helping others and did so with many family members and friends. She loved keeping up on current events, flower gardening, and being with her family. She was a huge animal lover and loved all of her many dogs and cats. She had the best sense of humor and was so much fun. She was a devoted wife and mother until the day she passed away. Betty was adored by her husband and children. Lucille Mae Piazza of Clearwater, Florida passed away on her birthday Thursday, November 30, 2023 after a long illness under the care of Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor, FL. Lucille was raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She worked for Cameron Station Post Exchange for 7 years prior to starting her family. After her children were born, Lucille was a stay at home Mom. Lucille was an amazing wife and mother. In 1991 Lucille and her family relocated to Clearwater, Florida. The family enjoyed pool life and boating year round. She loved flowers and plants and all animals. She had a variety of pets over the years. Lucille also loved her afternoon glass of wine and often said it was 5 o'clock somewhere. Lucille is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert Piazza of Clearwater, FL; her two daughters, Cindy Wright (Dan) of Palm Harbor, FL, and Carrie DiScioscia (Jorge) of Clearwater, FL; her beloved granddaughter, Tessa Mae; step-granddaughter Kirsten Wright; her sister, Constance Marie Spears of Stafford, Virginia; and her best friend of over 30 years, Betty J. Davis of Palm Harbor, FL; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lucille was preceded in passing by her parents, Connie and Mae Massey; and her sister, Rose Alice Massey-Daggett. Lucille had many nicknames Aunt Lulu, Lucy, and Lou. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. A service will be held at 1 p. m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the funeral home chapel. She will be brought home to Virginia and laid to rest at Spotsylvania Confederate Cemetery in Spotsylvania, Virginia. George H. Johnson, Jr. , 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at his home with his loving family beside him. He left knowing he was loved by his family and his many friends. He is now reunited in Heaven with his loved ones and watching over us here on Earth. George was a proud member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he held the highest honor of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus and Honor America Corps, where he marched proudly. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 320 in Spotsylvania, VA. He loved volunteering at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store every Saturday and made so many new friends and saw many old friends. George served proudly in the U. S. Army as a Staff Sergeant for eight years and worked at the Pentagon and State Department before retiring. He spent many years as a HAM operator with the MARS network and a member of the Rappahannock Valley Amateur Radio Club. George was a great friend to all, always had a smile, and was willing to help anyone who needed it. He always lit up a room with his smile, blue eyes, and kindness. He loved talking about his adventures growing up, life on the family farm in upstate New York, and his family. George loved to travel, being with his family, and sharing precious memories. He will be greatly missed and loved eternally. He is survived by his children, Joyce Baker (Johnny) and George H. Johnson III (Gloria); grandchildren Joshua Johnson, Joey Johnson (Jess), and Jeremy Baker; sister Joann Ausland; nieces Jodi Ausland and Laura Johnson; sister-in-law Lorraine Johnson; nephew Edward Johnson (Maria); and beloved cat, Chester. He also leaves behind a very special friend, Amy; and special lunch buddy, Joe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine M. Johnson; son Joseph M. Johnson; grandson Scott Hummer; brother Edward Johnson; and brother-in-law Jim Ausland. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p. m. with a recitation of the Rosary at 6:15 p. m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.
